Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) mocked President Trump, suggesting he may file a complaint with the federal government over the editing of an interview President Trump gave to “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday evening.
“Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unhinged 60 Minutes interview,” Schumer wrote in a post on X. “It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris.”

It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris.
Schumer was referring to Trump’s lawsuit against CBS, which came after his legal team argued the network edited an interview it conducted with Harris just days before the 2024 election to cast the Democratic presidential nominee in a positive light.
Paramount, CBS’s parent company, ultimately settled the lawsuit for $16 million, however, it did not issue an apology or acknowledge any wrongdoing for how it handled the Harris sit-down. (RELATED: Trump Rejects Paramount’s $15 Million Offer To Settle CBS News Lawsuit)
The White House promoted the sit-down Monday morning, calling it a “powerful interview” that the president used to “showcase record stock market gains, global peace breakthroughs, and his unwavering commitment to law and order.”
“Highlighting these remarkable successes, President Trump made clear to Democrats: reopen the government and work with him to keep America on the path to even greater prosperity and security,” the White House said.
Trump taped more than 70 minutes with journalist Norah O’Donnell at his Mar-a-Lago estate for Sunday’s broadcast, but viewers reportedly only saw roughly 30 minutes of that footage. CBS has posted both the broadcast version and the full interview on YouTube, as well as a full transcript of the interview.
Sunday’s interview marked Trump’s first appearance on the program since the multi-million dollar settlement with CBS News.
Throughout his Sunday interview with O’Donnell, Trump himself openly gloated that the network had settled with him on the Harris lawsuit and winked openly throughout by approving certain comments be edited out while he answered questions.

The 60 minute segment with Trump was not an interview. It was a argument. In an interview the host seeks to elicit the opinions, history and ideas of the guest. A host does not show documents claiming the interviewee is not telling the truth or has violated the hosts opinions and history. The reporter in this instance has no responsibility for her ideas and views and and the President of the United States can be asked hard controversial questions to get accurate information but not argue as an equal posting documents after the interview where they disagreed. In agreeing to the interview. Aa a combat veteran, I have wondered about when courage should stop and good judgment for the safety of your crew should become paramount. Trump has shown great courage in agreeing to the interview with a combatant clearly interested only in diminishing Trump’s stature rather than presenting his views un assailed but poor judgment in agreeing to spending time on showing courage where there is nothing to gain but unresponsible counter argument. I support the President but I wish he would put a filter on his thoughts saying only good things and letting others say the less than good tings and stop pissiing on every stone.
