Fox News' morning program was particularly unimpressed with one candidate following the third Republican presidential debate last night in Miami.
Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
While Ramaswamy won plaudits from pro-Trump influencers on Twitter for calling out RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel by name after another disappointing election, among other soundbites, reviews were mixed among other GOP primary voters and the broader electorate.
On “Fox & Friends,” Ainsley Earhardt fired the opening salvo at Ramaswamy, taking exception to his remarks aimed at Nikki Haley and her daughter.
Prominent MAGA supporters didn't appear to have any objections or concerns, though their support for former President Donald Trump is unwavering.
Earhardt's male counterparts concurred with her assessment of Ramaswamy, as Mediaite's Ken Meyer notes:
Steve Doocy clearly agreed, saying, “He had a terrible night.” The Fox host acknowledged this as Ramaswamy's strategy though, noting how he went after the Republican National Committee and the debate moderators before going one-on-one with Haley.
“That was pretty much his play,” said Doocy. “He was an attack dog last night.”
As he and his colleagues reviewed the policy positions displayed at the debate, Doocy determined that “Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis were, for the most part, the winners.” This led him to assess that the rest of the primary field should consider dropping out soon and consolidating around one of them to present a viable alternative to Donald Trump, who remains the GOP frontrunner.
“I know Chris Christie, it's hard to see a path. But man, is he good,” Kilmeade said. While the panel noted that Christie could do well with independents as the GOP general election candidate, “right now it's tough” being anti-Trump in the Republican primary.
There were hardly any criticisms of Trump during the debate, despite his candidacy remaining the biggest impediment to any of his challengers seizing the GOP nomination.
Meanwhile, the 45th president – and obvious favorite – held a competing rally in a Miami suburb.
