Fox News Chooses Permanent Replacement For Tucker: Report

-

According to reports, Channel (FNC) hopes its latest attempt to find a suitable replacement for will placate its viewers.

On Wednesday, the Drudge Report announced FNC decided to move to the coveted 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) slot.

Along with replacing “Tucker Carlson Tonight” with “Hannity,” and will supposedly provide news and commentary during Hannity's old time slot.

As Mediaite reports:

“WORLD EXCLUSIVE: FOX NEWS SETS NEW SCHEDULE” read the headline from Matt Drudge on the highly-trafficked website he founded. Drudge eventually updated that headline to note Hannity's new gig as well as report both Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld would be heading to prime time.

Watters currently hosts one of Fox's top-rated shows at 7 p.m. while Gutfeld hosts a highly-rated late-night show at 11 p.m. — both co-host Fox's top-rated program The Five at 5 p.m. Hannity, meanwhile, broke the record for longest-running cable news prime time host in April of 2022, eclipsing Larry King at 25 years, six months, and 15 days.

“FOXNEWS is preparing to announce an ambitious new schedule, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, a schedule where ever hour of primetime will change!” Drudge reported. “TOP SOURCE TELLS DRUDGE: ‘IT'S OUR BOLDEST AND MOST FEARLESS LINE-UP EVER'…”

A Fox News spokesperson told Mediaite, “No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration.”

The network did not indicate that it has any plans for Laura Ingraham or Trace Gallagher.

Some Twitter users were decidedly unimpressed. One tweeted he hopes that “Tucker releases his Twitter videos right in the middle of [Fox News] prime time every night.”

  1. I am beginning to feel sorry for Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters. They’re stuck with a second-rate network.

  2. I feel sorry for the many good people at Fox. Viewers like me will spend less and less time tuned to Fox if coverage becomes more main stream.

  3. Is FOX trying to destroy FOX because the old owners want to retire or something. These changes won’t work. I am already picking shows and picking hosts I feel like watching. With Tucker, I had my TV on FOX all day and only changed to my soap and than back to FOX. Now, I just feel like something is missing and I find I am moving over to movie and and real life murder channels. I have become restless instead of parked on one channel. I didn’t think Tucker would make that much difference because there are other hosts I like but the changes aren’t working for me. I think the old owners are getting ready to retire or sell FOX, or, FOX is working to make sure republicans lose to the democrats in the upcoming election. Look what FOX did with taking it upon themselves to call Arizona for the democrats in the last election with plenty of votes still being counted. Even with all the criminal activity coming out in the open right now which Tucker was responsible for lots of it coming out, I can’t figure out why FOX is acting like they want to become another CNN or whatever.
