Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent acknowledged Wednesday that he threatened to “kick ass” during a heated confrontation last year, while firmly denying reports that he threatened to punch the now-acting Director of National Intelligence “in the face.”

The unusual exchange emerged during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, where Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) pressed Bessent about reports surrounding a confrontation between the two Trump administration officials during the summer of 2025.

According to Bessent, one key detail in the widely circulated account was inaccurate.

Fox News contributor and occasional “Hannity” guest host Jason Chaffetz didn’t mince words when asked about former President Donald Trump’s appearance last night with Sean Hannity.

The Republican congressman-turned-Fox News fixture appears to have fled Trump’s camp for good after voting for him twice.

As Mediaite reports:

Fox & Friends brought on a panel of conservatives to review the interview, which was largely predictable morning show pablum, but Chaffetz took his shot.

Brian Kilmeade asked his guest, “Jason, you said overall you thought President Trump did a very poor job in the interview. Why?”

I thought Sean Hannity did a good job. But I watched that and I thought, where is Donald Trump? I voted for Donald Trump twice. I have defended him countless times. I thought he was horrific. I think that was the worst interview I’ve seen the president do. He was whining. He was complaining. He played the victim card. Time and time again. And then after that, he complained that, you know, somebody had endorsed was now running against him. And I. I thought he was absolutely horrific. He’s the former president of the United States. Act like it. He didn’t in that interview.

Besides criticizing Gov. DeSantis for his perceived disloyalty, Trump called out the legal challenges against him, notably the lingering possibility of an indictment from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trump called the investigations politically motivated.

He also defended posting a story on Truth Social, which included a photograph of him wielding a baseball bat next to an image of Bragg’s head. Trump claimed he didn’t see the image. The post was eventually deleted.

Trump announced last week that Bragg would indict him for his alleged role in falsifying business records to hide a hush money payment made by his then-attorney Michael Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels.

In other social media posts, Trump has called Bragg an “animal” and predicted “potential death and destruction” if he’s charged.

He`s allowed to complain especially when you wimp Republicans let the left get away with this scheit.

Mr. Trump has proved his especial talent for hyperbole and braggadocio and I too would rankle at YEARS of being treated poorly by the slime mold of The DC Swamp, however his episodes give him plenty of chances to smoke out RINOs and frenemies.
