Fox News Host to Be Deposed in Dominion Voting Systems Lawsuit Against Network

-

host is set to be deposed as part of ' defamation lawsuit against the cable news giant.

Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6 billion lawsuit in 2020 following the presidential election. The company argues Fox News airing claims of voter fraud pushed by former President Trump and his allies following the election defamed the company, causing irreparable damage to its credibility.

Bartiromo hosted Trump and other officials following the election as Trump's legal team fought to overturn the results in court.

The Hill reports:

In a court filing earlier this summer, Dominion argued Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch and other leaders at the company made a conscious decision to air the false claims of voter fraud for business reasons, saying Fox “decided to promote former President Trump's narrative after Trump's condemnation of Fox damaged its stock and viewership.”

Fox's lawyers have so far unsuccessfully moved to have the case dismissed on First Amendment grounds and said in a statement last week the company remains “confident we will prevail as of the press is foundational to our democracy and must be protected, in addition to the damages claims being outrageous, unsupported and not rooted in sound financial analysis, serving as nothing more than a flagrant attempt to deter our journalists from doing their jobs.”

In a statement given to The Washington Post this week, Dan Webb, a prominent attorney who recently joined Fox's legal defense team, said “there are very few events in the last 50 years in this country that I think are more newsworthy than our president alleging that our entire Democratic system was put on its head by a voting machine company stealing votes.”

A Delaware Superior Court filing reported Bartiromo is scheduled to begin questioning on September 8th.

Other Fox News stars being targeted by Dominion include , Sean Hannity, and Steve Doocy.

  1. This is a frivolous lawsuit which won’t go anywhere. Had Dominion been a bit more forthcoming instead of hiding their criminality, it would not have been necessary to do investigative reporting. My advice would be for them to just acknowledge they are corruptly working for the Deep State and hostile foreign powers, and facilitated a fraud on American voters.

  2. Several top Democrats had questioned the voting machines a few years earlier. They wrote a letter expressing their concerns. It is a fact that can be found online.
Apparently Dominion is only targeting conservatives. I wonder why?

  3. Dominion knows about the use of Algorithms. Why do rogue regimes use dominion? Why did Canada ban the use voting machines?? American, now one of the leading ruinous nations because of the democrats is far from exempt! We see daily their dirty work in wanting and implementing the use of rogue voting. This cannot be denied!! Only the crooks chose denial for their hunger for power and control!

    • Will they be allowed to sue the state of Texas for kicking them out of the state due to lack of audit ability? Is this a “use us or else” scenario?

  4. Should the Watergate reporters have been sued early in their process of revelation? There are literally hundreds of other examples of reporters finding something and putting it in print or on TV that we can point to.

  5. What a joke this is. I can’t believe Fox is being sued when there are so many lies put forth by the so called main stream media!

  6. Doesn’t Nancy Pelosi and her husband have investment in Dominion or actually own it or is involved with almost all of the states brought Dominion machines for this election. I read more than one article about Pelosi. These democrats in one way or another own or have major ownershp of these voting machines or the company buying them in numbers where many states replaced their machines with Dominion machines. Reporting is reporting and should be investigated wherever suspicious activity is happening whether or not the suspicious activity is real or not. It has to be investigated to make sure anything with elections and businesses and people, etc. is honest.

  7. “..there are very few events in the last 50 years in this country that I think are more newsworthy than our president alleging that our entire Democratic system was put on its head “

Some of those “FEW THINGS” might include falsely accusing a President of collusion with Russia; or creating a “cabal” of labor, big tech corporations, Dem politicians, activists and election officials to “SAVE DEMOCRACY” – in pure English defeat Donald Trump. (Mollie Ball TIME magazine – Jan 2021)

  8. And so now investigative reporting is in their sights. Benjamin Franklin in Poor Richard’s Almanack would have something to say about thet. He would call for another wild Indian Tea Party.

  9. Simply too many irregularities in several states that beg for an open congressional hearing. Mail-in ballots without a method of tracking the voter to their vote is non-sense. Why do Democrats cry foul when insistence on ID cards is asked by Republicans? It’s a fabricated scam. Add this to the censorship of Conservatives and we are becoming nazi Germany.
