The publisher of Jeanine Pirro’s most recent book is unhappy about Fox News management’s choices to keep Judge Jeanine from appearing at certain venues.
Earlier this week, Pirro canceled her scheduled appearance on “Flashpoint,” a Christian commentary show that has baselessly questioned the 2020 presidential election. The show’s host, Gene Bailey, revealed that Pirro withdrew from the live episode scheduled to take place at an Ohio church and a book signing.
According to The Western Journal, Bailey expressed his surprise regarding the decision. He attempted to contact Fox News but received no response, prompting him to go on-air and accuse the network of engaging in “cancel culture.”
Semafor’s Max Tani believes the origins of Pirro’s tight leash go back to Fox Corporation’s $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
In a statement shared with Semafor, a spokesperson for Pirro’s publisher, Winning Team Publishing, said that the former New York judge was “prohibited from speaking at Turning Point USA, church services, and various other events.”
“We are extremely disappointed that Fox News would censor one of their biggest stars,” the spokesperson said.
On May 24th, Pirro released her book, “Crimes Against America: The Left’s Takedown of Our Republic.” Her publisher, Winning Team Publishing, bills itself as the leading conservative publishing house. Established in 2021 by close allies of former President Donald Trump, including his son, Donald Trump Jr., Winning Team Publishing aims to compete with the “Big Five” publishing houses.
Pirro has made several media appearances off the network since publishing her book, including host Pastor Gene Bailey’s show Flashpoint and an interview on Donald Trump Jr.’s show on the streaming platform Rumble. But she was asked by the network not to appear at a Turning Point USA event in Arizona, though she signed books at the conservative youth organization’s headquarters last week.
And she was strongly advised against appearing at a “tent-revival”-style church event in New Albany, Ohio, next weekend alongside Pastor Bailey, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell and Jim Caviezel, the conservative actor who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ. A spokesperson for Bailey, a conservative television anchor and co-host of the weekend’s event, told Semafor that he would be addressing Fox’s decision on his Tuesday evening broadcast.
“Flashpoint” and its network, The Victory Channel, are not without controversy. One on-air personality recently predicted that God may suddenly end the lives of federal prosecutors investigating former President Trump.
Although the Dominion settlement allowed Fox News to avoid a lengthy and potentially embarrassing trial, it left the network shaken and more cautious.
Besides Dominion, another defamation lawsuit looms over Fox. This time from Smartmatic, which is seeking $2.7 billion in damages.
