Left-wing political commentator and prominent Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has been temporarily banned from the platform following comments he made about Republican Florida Senator Rick Scott. Piker, known for his strong political opinions and large online following, was reacting to a clip of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson discussing Medicaid fraud with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins when he stated, “If you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott, okay? You wouldn’t make Rick Scott … a prominent part of the Republican party.”
While Twitch has not explicitly confirmed the reason for Piker’s ban, his social media posts suggest that the inflammatory remark about Scott was the cause. He remained defiant on X (formerly Twitter), posting a sarcastic “apology,” and insisting that the reaction to his statement was overblown.
big shout out to the right wing free speech lovers who took time out of their day screaming about dei & immigrants, to cry abt this!

He further criticized Scott for his alleged role in Medicare fraud, referring to him as a perpetrator of “the most Medicare fraud in U.S. history” and calling for Speaker Johnson to “give Scott max punishment.” Twitch’s community guidelines are clear about prohibiting threats of violence, and the platform has a strict “zero-tolerance” policy for such behavior. According to the guidelines, “encouraging others to participate in acts that may harm others” can result in an indefinite suspension, which is what happened with Piker’s account.
This is not the first time Piker has run into trouble on Twitch. In 2021, the streamer was temporarily banned from the platform for using the anti-white slur “cracker” during one of his broadcasts.
Adding fuel to the fire, Democratic New York Rep. Ritchie Torres has expressed alarm over Piker’s comments and broader concerns about the rise of antisemitism on social media platforms. Torres, who sent a letter to Twitch CEO and Amazon executives on October 29, highlighted the increase in antisemitic rhetoric online following the events of October 7. In his letter, Torres described Piker as “the poster child for the post-October 7th outbreak of antisemitism in America.”
Piker, who has amassed a significant following of over 2.7 million on Twitch, is one of the most influential political streamers. His channel, HasanAbi, is known for its progressive commentary on current events, often covers topics like healthcare, “income inequality,” and social justice. However, his comments about Rick Scott have drawn attention to the limits of online speech and what is considered acceptable behavior in public discourse.
With millions of followers, influencers like Piker wield considerable power in shaping political discussions, and their remarks—whether intentional or not—can have far-reaching consequences.

From the name (Hasan Piker) it appears that this person is of the Muslim faith. All such people seem to advocate for sharia law, which contains the most oppressive rules from the MIddile Ages! We’ve gone so far past them, we might have to ban their “faith” from our country to survive their influence!
