Lawrence Jones Steps Up To Fill Tucker Carlson’s Seat

-

' will be the next guest host covering 's old time slot starting Monday night.

In 2022, Jones became the youngest Black host of a program in cable news history.

Jones, 30, expressed gratitude for the opportunity while being careful not to compare himself to Carlson. Praising his predecessor, Jones said Carlson “carved his own lane,” earning the audience's trust. (RELATED: Tucker Carlson Says He's Still Employed By Fox News)

“I can only be the LJ you've allowed to grow the last nine years on Fox,” he added.

Meanwhile, Britain's Daily Mail reports that is rumored to have pitched Carlson a massive deal, even proposing he could oversee programming for the entire network:

Carlson has been cryptic about his plans in remarks this week to DailyMail.com, and a video statement posted on Twitter, and is currently barred from formal job negotiations due to his Fox News contract.

While Newsmax hasn't made any formal job offer, execs at the channel have been peppering Carlson's confidants with informal proposals that he could take a leading role in rebranding the channel and overseeing programming, according to TMZ.

The Newsmax website has also spent much of the week publishing stories bashing Fox News and fawning over Carlson, with a banner headline on Saturday morning, citing a poll, reading: ‘Tucker Carlson More Popular Than Fox News.'

As the biggest name in cable news, Carlson is unlikely to head anywhere that can't pay a huge salary – or offer the massive reach that he's used to.

    • Do not banish the imperfect for the horrible…….

Just make fox your number 2 or 3 choice.

  1. I guess election interference is acceptable in America as long as the interference interferes with the election of Donald J Trump. Isn’t it obvious?

    • Not a bad idea NEWSMAX. However on FOX I will still watch Jesse and once in a while a couple other FOX options like Trey on Sunday. I don’t think Jones can pull it off in Carlson’s spot. Jones is a nice kid and talented, but not at the same intellectual level as Carlson (who should not have been fired). Many of Carlson’s riffs were totally brilliant. Yes, he did make some missteps. But who doesn’t?

  2. Facebook has a way better look than Twitter. Fox has a way better look that any other especially on Roku Ultra. With the popularity of ” The Marvelous Mrs Maisel ” about New York in the 50s , Fox decided to go with the left leaning of the Prime 13 Globe award series. I mean, Mrs Maisel is beguiling and irresistible, they way they package her.

  3. Fox has none nothing to help this young man get his young brothers murderer brought to justice. Lawrence is a nice guy but he’s not going to replace what fox has done. Lost allot of viewers have left and leaving.
