A growing rift inside conservative media is coming into focus and Megyn Kelly is at the center of it.
The former Fox News host is now openly criticizing the network’s coverage of the Iran conflict, accusing it of helping push the U.S. toward deeper military involvement.
What Kelly is saying
Speaking on her podcast, Kelly argued that some Fox personalities are effectively acting as a “cheerleader” for escalation — including the possibility of U.S. ground troops.
Kelly’s comments went further when she took direct aim at Rupert Murdoch, questioning his influence over Fox News — and making a blunt remark about his age, saying “he’ll be dead soon.” She tied that criticism to what she sees as the network pushing toward another futile regime change effort in the Middle East.
According to Mediaite’s Alex Griffing, Kelly’s remarks came as part of a broader critique of Sen. Lindsey Graham, who said on “Fox News Sunday” that he would advise President Donald Trump to seize Iran’s Kharg Island.
“We did Iwo Jima. We can do this. The Marines, my money is always on the Marines,” Graham declared.
Griffing noted that Kelly didn’t hold back in her response:
“Unbelievable. 6,821 US service personnel died in the battle for Iwo Jima, 19,217 were wounded. How dare he speak about it so cavalierly?” Kelly reacted, adding:
How dare he? He doesn’t have any kids. He’s not sending a young son or daughter into battle.
F this guy. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna posting on X that Senator Graham is acting as if our troops are, quote, ‘expendable cattle.’ That’s exactly right.
How dare he? And now we learn over the weekend that Rupert Murdoch was one of the main people to be goading Trump into this war. Rupert Murdoch, who is 95 years old — he’ll be dead soon. And he too is acting as if our troops are, quote, expendable cattle. You won’t have to live with the consequences of what he’s doing. And good for Anna Paulina Luna.

A bigger divide emerges
Kelly’s comments reflect a broader split:
- Some Fox hosts support a more aggressive stance on Iran
- Others warn against another prolonged Middle East conflict
Kelly has aligned herself with the latter camp, warning the war could mark a departure from the “America First” approach that resonated with many Trump voters.
Why this matters
This isn’t just a media story.
Fox News remains one of the most influential voices in conservative politics — and its messaging can shape how Republican voters and policymakers view foreign policy decisions.
The political risk
Even small fractures within the Republican coalition could have consequences.
As the 2026 midterms approach, divisions over issues like foreign policy could complicate efforts to maintain party unity.
Bottom line
Kelly’s remarks highlight a growing internal debate over the Iran conflict — and raise questions about how far that divide could spread.

Surely it would be a good thing for both us and the Iranians if we didn’t have to have ‘boots on the ground’ And I certainly hope that we don’t have to!
But there is a worse scenario.
Think of Iran having nuclear bombs and missiles with which to deliver them!
Think of Iran still being able to financially support terrorists ( some of who may well be in this country NOW ).
How long do you think it would it be before Iran could and would send their nukes OUR way?
Then we’d hear from the libs and RINOs ( those who were still alive ) that Trump should have destroyed Iran’s ability to do a thing like that.
Damned if you do … damned if you don’t, uh?
How about using logic and ‘seeing’ what the future could well hold!
There is no ‘good’ outcome here. Only a better or a worse one!
It’s not about Trump anymore, at least for 2026 mid terms. The Rs who are not actually Trump have already lost it; they have no voice, no leadership, no pushback against Dem lies about who’s responsible for affordability, crime, CA gas prices, etc. They are silent and deserve to lose, unfortunately.
The problem isn’t what Kelly says. It is that anyone listens to what she says.
