Linsey Davis will co-moderate the highly anticipated ABC presidential debate, despite a well-documented history of disparaging Donald Trump with accusations of racism and supporting Kamala Harris, igniting concerns about fairness and bias.
The Washington Times reports:
In an interview last month at the Democratic National Convention, Ms. Davis asked Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to comment on Mr. Trump's plans to campaign in Howell, Michigan. A month earlier, a dozen demonstrators completely disguised in masks marched through part of the town holding up “Heil Hitler,” and “White Lives Matter” signs.
“Many people are aware that a month ago, in Howell, KKK protesters marched in the streets with the white robes on and suggested that they support Donald Trump. I'm curious if you make anything about that connection and him going in particularly to Howell tomorrow.”
Last month, another reporter questioned Trump about his visit to Howell and the Harris campaign insisting that he was there to court the “White Supremacist Vote.” Trump simply responded by asking “who was here in 2021?” The reporter answered “Joe Biden” to which Trump laughed and said “thank you.”
The Washington Times continues:
In a television appearance four years earlier, Ms. Davis accused Mr. Trump of “giving a call to action” to White supremacists after the then-president said at a Sept. 20, 2020, presidential debate that the violent left-wing group Antifa was a greater threat to the nation than the right-wing militia group Proud Boys.
In an interview with Vice President Harris, suffering from historically low approval ratings for the office, Davis suggested that her poor approval ratings weren't the result of her merits, leadership and disposition, but instead, a symptom of a “sexist” and “racist” populace judging her too harshly based on her immutable characteristics. Instead of asking her what she thought she'd done wrong or why she thought the public had such a negative perception of her, she asked, “How much of a role, if any, that you feel race and gender play in that?”
She also called Harris becoming Vice President “profound” and “powerful” after the media called the election for the Biden-Harris ticket.
Media Research Center Director of Media Analysis Tim Graham said Ms. Davis' line of questions raises concerns about whether she'll ask critical questions of Ms. Harris, who has pivoted significantly on major issues and has only sat down for one television interview and one radio interview since replacing President Biden on the top of the ticket.
Her co-moderator, David Muir, has also made remarks that raise questions about his bias and ability to host a fair debate without favoring his candidate of choice. He lauded Biden as a hero after he bowed out of the presidential race, and a “patriot who stepped aside when democracy needed it.”
Screw Linsey Davis!
There’s no way this Communist /Democrat propaganda outlet will have a fair moderator. They are all Democrat ass kissers, very ddep
Trump has a spine and isn’t afraid to go into enemy territory and confront the biased moderators and networks. Harris cowers from Fox, needs Walz to hold her hand, takes a week off to prepare, tries to change the debate rules, probably gets the questions ahead of time. Trump will go into the den of the enemy with very little debate prep and rely on his intelligence.
