Elon Musk has chosen to terminate Don Lemon's show on X before it premiered. In one fell swoop, the disgraced CNN anchor's hopes to follow in the footsteps of Tucker Carlson were put on hold indefinitely.
Lemon claims that Musk scrapped his planned comeback because he didn't like the way he was portrayed in their interview set to air next week. (RELATED: Fmr. CNN Anchor Launches Bid For Congress)
Lemon had hoped to mimic Tucker Carlson's triumphant return to the media ecosystem by hosting his own show on X.
After 17 years with CNN, network management fired Lemon over the phone. His abrupt termination was one of 2023's biggest falls from grace. (RELATED: Conservative Star Tried Settling Sexual Battery Lawsuit – Got Rejected)
Both Lemon and Carlson were coincidentally terminated on the same day and share the same high-powered attorney.
While Carlson amplified his message on X before launching his own streaming service, Lemon has kept a decidedly lower profile. The onetime liberal media darling has been spotted in the Hamptons and occasionally on cable news.
Lemon claimed complete vindication following the resignation of Chris Licht as chairman and CEO of CNN. However, Lemon's former on-air colleagues never seemed to be upset by his termination.
The co-hosts on his final program, “CNN This Morning,” spent a mere 39 seconds discussing his dismissal before moving on.
