Former Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in her first major move since losing the 2024 race.
The talent agency will represent Harris “in all areas, focusing on speaking engagements and publishing,” CAA said in a Tuesday statement.
“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service,” the Los Angeles-based company said.
According to The Hill, the entertainment firm represented her when she was California’s senator, before becoming vice president.
Former President Biden is also represented by CAA, with an announcement earlier this month that the ex-commander-in-chief had signed with the agency. CAA also represents former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
Speculation has been swirling regarding what the future holds for Harris’ political career. The former California Senator has been floated as a possible replacement for Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The 60-year-old former VP brushed off questions about a potential gubernatorial bid earlier this month, saying, “I have been home for two weeks and three days.”
“My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them,” she said after visiting areas in California impacted by devastating wildfires.
However, a former Democratic National Committee (DNC) official, Alex Hoffman, recently cast doubt on Vice President Kamala Harris‘ future political prospects, particularly her potential run for the presidency in 2028. Speaking on a podcast, Hoffman claimed that during the DNC’s Winter Meeting he found no one who believed Harris should seek the Democratic nomination again. Hoffman was blunt about the mood among the DNC members, operatives, and donors in the room: “I don’t think there’s a single one of them who was saying that Kamala Harris is the leader of the party, nor should she run again.” His comments reflect the growing division within the Democratic Party over Harris’ future and her political limitations. Hoffman himself was clear in his own stance, saying, “I don’t think that’s a good idea in any way, shape, or form.”
He pointed out that if Harris were to run again, it would likely be a challenge, considering her inability to capture meaningful support during the 2020 Democratic primaries, where she dropped out before the Iowa caucus.
