Rock Legend Dies After Short Illness

The co-lead singer of one of the world’s best-selling bands has died.

Christine McVie, 79, has passed away following a short illness, McVie’s family announced on Instagram Wednesday.

As CBC News reports:

“She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure,” the band’s statement read. “She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.”

Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. The band’s hits include such iconic rock ballads as “Dreams,” “Go Your Own Way” and “Everywhere.”
