Star Wars’ Mark Hamill Faces Backlash After Joking About Trump’s Ear Bandage

In a recent social media faux pas, “Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill took a pointed jab at former President Donald Trump’s ear bandage.

Hamill, internationally known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, commented on the “ludicrously oversized” bandage Trump sported during his surprise appearance at the Republican National Convention on Monday night following Saturday’s assassination attempt.

Hamill also suggested Trump wore the bandage as a mere spectacle, claiming it was “apparently not needed prior to tonight.”

Hamill appears to be basing his “not needed prior to tonight” assessment on apparent video footage of Trump at his Bedminster club that surfaced the day after the assassination attempt. In the video, which has not been authenticated, Trump is seen only at a considerable distance, with his affected ear turned away from view.

As Breitbart News reported, Trump made an appearance Monday night at the RNC in Milwaukee.

Wearing a white gauze bandage over his ear,  he walked out and pumped his fist as the crowd could be heard chanting, “Fight, fight, fight” — a tribute to what Trump shouted to the crowd in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday immediately after surviving the assassination attempt.

Trump narrowly escaped assassination. A 5.56 mm rifle bullet missed penetrating his brain by a mere half-inch, thanks to a slight head turn. Instead, the bullet pierced through his right ear, leading to the necessity of the bandage.

The assassination attempt was not without grave consequences. Corey Comperatore, a volunteer firefighter who heroically shielded his wife and daughter, tragically lost his life at the scene. Additionally, two other individuals sustained critical injuries during the attack.
