Texas Congressman Brandon Gill reignited calls to deport Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mich.) back to her birth country of Somalia on Tuesday.
“America would be a better place if @IlhanMN were deported back to Somalia,” Gill wrote Tuesday on X.
Gill, a first-term lawmaker representing Texas’s 26th Congressional District, was responding to a clip another X user shared Tuesday of the Minnesota Democrat’s recent interview with a reporter.
Later, in another post, Gill wrote that “we should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country.”
Omar came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1995 and became a naturalized citizen at 17 years old in 2000.
Omar, the first Somali American member of Congress, recently outlined what Somalians who are “undocumented or whose documentation might have lapsed” should do if they are questioned by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
“You are not obligated to answer their questions. Just state that your are advised by a lawyer not to answer questions,” Omar told the reporter. “Disclosure of your name, immigration status, and the mode of entry is not mandatory. Learn the laws and prepare yourself and refrain from disclosing information that you prefer them not to know.”
A spokesperson for Gill told The Hill, “Representative Omar’s conduct raises questions about to whom she is most loyal- the American people or illegal aliens from Somalia. Representative Gill simply stated that it is disgraceful for a sitting Congresswoman and US citizen to facilitate the invasion of our country by illegal alien Somalis.”
Close President Trump ally Elon Musk also reacted to the Tuesday clip of Omar, writing that “she is breaking the law. Literally. Outright.”
“It just shows you how much he lacks an understanding of what the laws of the country are,” Omar said Tuesday on “CNN News Central” when asked about Musk’s post.

Omar needs to be deported along with all the other illegal Somolians. She does not represent Americans and does not respect the law
Perhaps we have lots of citizens who don’t deserve to be here, congressman Gill included, for being a throwback politician. Can’t think of a good argument, then just cast out inflaming rhetoric, eh?
She should have been deported when they discovered she married her brother.
She committed illegalities to be here and remain here and is now instructing other illegals on how to not be caught by ICE. She is not for America as are many other politicians on both sides of the isle. We, as Americans, have to be more diligent as to who and what we agree to vote for. And, we need an election system that is fair and not able to be tampered with. One VOTE FOR ONE LEGAL AMERICAN with voter ID.

No, American Citizens have those rights. Not residents, and certainly not illegal immigrants (aliens).
It is hard to believe, as corrupt as we know our government is, that Omar was not arrested and deported years ago. I believe marrying your brother to deceive immigration is a very serious crime and this is information that came out many years ago. I pray that we will once again become a nation governed by the laws that our legislature passes.
Omar is not a legal immigrant herself yet she sits in Congress voted in by a solid block of somalies. It is past time to investigate her and everything she is involved in. She really should have never been alllowed here in the first place and now she needs to be removed for good if not put in jail for a long time and then removed. Her sort of actions are illegal here in the US but in Somali they are business as usual. Crime, graft, corruption are what she has been raised to participate in. Have ICE show up at her lectures and arrest all there she is teaching to avoid removal since they are illegal aliens being coached by her. That should be an excuse for arresting her as well. How unamerican must she be to get her arrested then deported? She and Talib are both unamerican! .
