Tucker Carlson Breaks Silence, Bill O’Reilly Reacts

-

Ex- host Bill O'Reilly was on-air last night when released a video from his in-home television studio.

News Nation's Chris Cuomo was interviewing O'Reilly when Tucker posted a video on Twitter, throwing thinly-veiled criticisms at the cable news industry and hinting at his imminent return.

The video garnered more views than Fox News amassed in his old time slot in less than an hour.

Fox News Channel (FNC) forced O'Reilly out after a series of sexual harassment allegations made his position at the network untenable.

Speaking from his experience, O'Reilly told Cuomo how Carlson could thrive post-FNC.

Meanwhile, FNC's ratings continue to suffer. 's discussed the precipitous drop with host on Wednesday night, as Mediaite reports:

“I think it's also noteworthy, Anderson, that without Carlson in the 8 p.m. hour over at Fox News, the ratings over there are really collapsing,” Darcy said. “Last night, in the key advertiser-supported, coveted 25 to 54 demo, they saw the worst ratings since pre-9/11. That's a really staggering drop over at Fox News. The hour before it actually rated higher than the 8 p.m. hour, which is something of an anomaly over at Fox – something certainly that never happened when Tucker Carlson was in that hour.” [emphasis added]

Nevertheless, Fox still won the 8 p.m. slot and beat out all CNN and MSNBC shows in total viewers on Tuesday. Fox also won primetime and total day – and did the same on Monday too,

“And so, I think as we're watching this, it's really interesting to see the ramifications it's having at Fox and also at the smaller right-wing channel, , which is seeing its ratings surge,” Darcy continued. And this is of course what led to the initial Dominion debacle, because Fox executives saw this other competitor rising. And that's when they started to make some of these decisions that led to being sued ultimately by Dominion.”

The reasons behind Tucker's sacking remain murky. Conflicting reports from anonymous sources spread rapidly since his dismissal.

    • I still enjoy O’Riley while some of my more liberal friends tend to rag on me about my viewing choices.

Was management’s action at FOX just another warning shot to instill fear in the minds and hearts of other show hosts who could possibly be construed as straying from managerial control and oversight?

  1. Tucker the truth teller will be fine, As for Fox News, it has entered the descending path of Pravda and it were better if they had a millstone about their collective necks and flung into the deep ocean.
