ABC's Sunny Hostin came out swinging on Friday's episode of “The View.”
Her explosive comments were in response to Joy Behar's remarks about her safety during a recent trip to Italy. Reflecting on her vacation, Behar called guns “the major problem” in the United States.
Hostin added that the vast majority of gun owners are white men. She opined that they “are being radicalized by Fox News…by other right-wing media” and “taught to fear people that don't look like them.”
Nicholas Fondacaro of the Media Research Center didn't take kindly to her words.
Hostin's co-hosts offered their opinions, as Breitbart notes:
Co-host Sara Haines said, “This instinct to shoot first is a really complicated problem with a lot of different branches. I think the obsession with social media, time spent on social media, the kind of numbing of something social that's antisocial, I think consumption of porn, now we're getting into some of the lane of a lot of male of all ages, video games. A lot of these things are removing that humanity, that empathy, that connection.”
She added, “We're also watching the degradation of church. I am not an institutional church person. I was raised in the church, I've got a lot of issues, but one thing across religions and churches, there's a morality component, a duty to serve your community, your families, to people that are different from you.”

Call me crazy but I don’t think that the majority of “white men” in this country, let alone conservative white men, are the ones that are responsible for the “degradation of church.”
And to say that people who watch Fox and other “Right Wing media” are being taught to be afraid of “people who don’t look like them…”. The entire point of carrying a firearm and training with it is so that you don’t NEED to be afraid of anyone who means to do you harm, no matter what they look like.
I don’t care what you look like, what you wear, what color your skin is or what language you speak. I give everyone the respect they deserve. They all start out at a “10.” After that, their actions speak louder than words. If you act like a threat, you will be treated as a threat. If you treat me with courtesy and respect, you will receive courtesy and respect. Pretty simple concept for most of us. If Ms. Hostin acts like a waste of oxygen, she will be treated like a waste of oxygen. The color of her skin has nothing to do with it except in her own mind as evidenced by her own words and actions.
I submit those wanting to disarm others are the ones that have been taught to fear. Oddly enough, they are the ones that CARE about superficial appearances.
Well, I’ve come to the conclusion no one on the View has an intelligent opinion on anything. If they did they’d know they and their ilk are the problem with their lousy parenting and public education systems.
Can Sunny Hostin explain why most of the guns are owned by white men while white gun crimes are proportionally a very small part of the problem compared to other races?
No… she cannot. She and her pal’s wouldn’t do well on a program that allowed for live responses to their ridiculous claims. ‘The View’ is a program clearly not meant for people who can think for themselves.
I would love the chance to call in and tell them where they’re so wrong, but it won’t happen because I wouldn’t waste my time watching them.
How can thinking and “the View” be put together?
She can’t even READ the evidence if you shove it in her face.
There’s a very good reason why Sunny Hostin has never been able to make it any further than ‘The View’, and I think this display of utter ignorance explains as much. Gun-grabbers like Hostin and her pals ALWAYS make the same mistake in that they use emotional arguments instead of stating facts. Fox News doesn’t “promote” guns… and they never have. She knows this, but as an avowed leftist she simply doesn’t like Fox News. Neither does she have an excuse for all the illegal weapons used in black on black crime, the biggest problem in our blue cities today, so instead she tries to hang this issue on law-abiding white males. To call this a leap would be the understatement of the day! ‘The View’ cows would be better served to keep their remarks to the more mundane issues of the day… that’s clearly more their style!
Most folks in Illinois/ Chicago for instance who bought guns by the millions were minorities and or women. . Four million plus NEW gun purchases by new gun owners for the very first time
In the state I live in, just about every woman I know carries a gun in her purse; as well, most men hunt so lots of black men have guns. Gun buying has been steadily rising for the last 20 yrs or so, and lots of minorities, women and Dems are now buying guns that is a fact as shown by govt. statistics. As for Italy, guns may not be prevalent but there is TONS of theft going on everywhere as well as alot of violence, lots and lots of it and has been since before I was there in 1977. My best friend’s dad is from Italy and she goes there about every other year – she can confirm all of this and all you have to do is read a book on touring Italy. Check out Lonely Planet series, they will tell you all about it, last I checked. btw, Sonny Hostin, I guess you don’t know any lesbians? Lots of them have guns. One neighbor has tons of ammo, guns and was taught how to shoot by a SWAT team sniper; I also have a cop living in apt right above me and he has guns – I sleep ALOT better at night knowing I’m protected. Go pound sand, Sonny, you have ZERO idea what you’re talking about. You’re even dumber than you look.

What about the shootings in one city, Chicago? Those darn rascal white guys are coming from the suburbs and across the state lines of Indiana and Wisconsin to shoot up the city, and killing people in the city, aren’t they?
The View members are far from being reputable in their opinions or remarks. They are far short of being comparable to talent at Fox!
Sunny, 13% of the US population are responsible for 90% of the crime, Care to guess WHO are the 13%, Sunny? Look in the mirror.
