An entrepreneur in upstate New York recently installed a massive 100-foot “Vote Trump” sign overlooking the highway, but Democratic city officials insist it will be a “distraction” to drivers, and create chaos on the roads, and have demanded it be covered up.
Fox News reports:
Sticker Mule CEO Anthony Constantino told Fox News Digital he installed the sign on top of the old Fownes glove factory to symbolize the return of American manufacturing and what he calls “the triumph of the underdog against insurmountable adversity.”
Since his initial presidential run in 2016, Trump has championed American manufacturing, and incentivizing businesses to manufacture domestically as opposed to outsourcing their labor — especially to hostile super powers like China.
Constantino went on to compare Trump’s triumph in the face of assassination attempts to that of his company.
“I think that’s what President Trump did. He triumphed against massive adversity. He’s still doing that with bullets flying by his head. And we triumph too. Nobody thought we could build a massive sticker company or a massive tech company in upstate New York.”
But officials insist that the sign violates city code, assuming that drivers will take their focus off of the road to gawk at the two-word sign.
Fox News continues:
According to court documents, the sign violates city code because it “presents a dangerous distraction and impacts traffic flow,” especially at night when it is illuminated. Local officials allege Sticker Mule was informed it would need a permit and several variances to install the sign in August, but the company never responded before the sign went up Oct. 1.
Constantino and his legal team contest the city’s claims. The CEO believes Amsterdam’s Democratic Party-endorsed independent mayor is anti-Trump and has vowed to fight a temporary injunction that requires the sign to be covered up. Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti did not respond to requests for comment.
The mayor denies political motivation, despite being on record as calling Trump his least favorite president in American history.”
“I don’t care what the sign says, but distracting the attention of drivers on the freeway is something that needs to be looked at, and that’s what we’re doing. Any sign that represents a hazard to the safety of drivers concerns me. Anyone who violates city codes is an issue that we deal with, and we are in the process of dealing with it and trying to alleviate what I consider a hazard.”
General counsel for Sticker Mule Sal Ferlazzo said, “The affidavit claims, without evidence, that the city will suffer irreparable harm because the sign is a dangerous distraction for drivers due to its novelty and the fear that people will stop to take pictures of it. The court, based solely on the city’s presentation and without any opportunity for me to respond, did initially grant a preliminary injunction and restraining order.”
While no accidents have been linked to the larger than life sign so far, it has generated a great deal of interest and enthusiasm, prompting Constantino to host a “lighting party” hosted by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stars.
Fox News explains:
The impossible-to-miss sign attracted “major interest,” according to Constantino. To celebrate its installation, his political action committee, StickerPAC, plans to host a “Trump Sign Lighting Party” Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. A news release about the event says UFC superstars Henry Cejudo, Kelvin Gastelum and Tracy Cortez will join Constantino to speak and support the “historic event.”

Key phrase from the article, the mayor’s quote “what I consider a hazard” – okay mister mayor, ARTICULATE some specifics other than ‘mights’ or ‘maybes’. If you can’t then the impression that your ‘decision’ is very likely politically motivated. Period.
As time goes on it is becoming more and more obvious that America needs to rid itself of “the enemies within”
This is a GREAT company. I have ordered many projects. There entire process is simple and easy to use. The City should be thrilled to have them as part of their community. More items MADE IN THE USA!
This is clearly a witch hunt by the democrats 1 They didn’t save the buildings and add approx. 1000 employees.
Congratulations to Sticker mule! I wish I could be there tonight for the lighting.
Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti needs to go! Time for a Mayor who promotes new business’ that create new jobs.
God Bless Sticker Mule and God Bless America! We need Companies like this to Make America Great Again.
By the stated logic, ALL billboards should be banned. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude the mayor is LYING about the reason.
