Ex-Trump Endorsed Candidate Turns Himself In On Murder Charge

A former congressional candidate and ex-professional wrestler, who received an endorsement from former President during the 2020 elections, has surrendered to authorities.

After being wanted by police in connection to the of a man on the Las Vegas Strip.

On Wednesday, authorities in Clark County, , issued an arrest warrant for , a longtime WWE wrestler who is now involved in Republican . The warrant stemmed from an incident in October of last year, when Christopher Tapp, an acquaintance of Rodimer, was found deceased inside a hotel. The coroner's office ruled Tapp's death a homicide from blunt force trauma.

According to 8 News Now, the two men “knew each other through the classic car and racing circuit,” and Tapp had spent 20 years in prison on charges of murder and rape, before being released in 2019 after the conviction was vacated.

Rodimer was backed by Trump during the 2020 election, with the then-president giving Rodimer his “Complete and Total Endorsement.”

Rodimer eventually lost the election to Rep. Susie Lee (D-Nev.).

In 2021, he ran for in Texas with the slogan “Make America Texas Again.” That campaign was rebuked by the Trump team for wrongly suggesting that the former president had endorsed him once again.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on Rodimer's surrender at the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday night:

Daniel Rodimer was seen walking into the jail's front entrance with his attorney, David Chesnoff, shortly before 6 p.m. He did not speak to reporters and shielded his face as he walked into the building.

“Mr. Rodimer is voluntarily surrendering to authorities and will post a court ordered bail,” Chesnoff and fellow attorney Richard Schonfeld wrote in an emailed statement. “He intends on vigorously contesting the allegations and asks that the presumption of innocence guaranteed all Americans be respected.”

Court records show Rodimer posted a $200,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 10.
