A bakery in small town Pennsylvania is holding an informal “cookie poll,” and if the results are any indicator of the way people will vote in November — especially in the key swing state — it paints a grim picture for Harris’s chances of clinching electoral victory. They’ve sold 5,200 Trump cookies compared to just 500 Harris cookies.

Lochel’s Bakery in Hatboro, Pa., is tracking the sales of their red Trump cookies and blue Harris cookies as customers from across the country are placing orders to show support for their candidate.
One-third of the cookies have been shipped to outside states, with the remaining staying in the Keystone State. Lochel said almost all the shipments within the battleground state have been red.
Of her Pennsylvania shipments, a measly seven have been for the blue Harris cookies.
Pollsters and political experts are adamant that Pennsylvania will decide the election, and that if either candidate secures it, they both have likelihood upwards of 90% of winning the election.
The owner believes the results are largely driven by economy — listed again and again as the number one issue for most voters heading into November. “A lot of people are upset right now with the cost of things, they’re venting to us.”
The economy also happens to be the issue that the majority of polled voters trust Trump on over Harris. Most say they were better off financially under the Trump-Pence administration than they are under the Biden-Harris administration. Voters also seemed unsatisfied with the economic policy Kamala Harris revealed, especially concerning the Soviet-era grocery price controls she said she’d implement.
The owners themselves have felt mounting economic pressures over the past four years, and are struggling to maintain their prices.
“Prices are very high for us. We have not raised our prices in three years on almost all items. We’re trying to maintain the prices and have consumer confidence. But we’re getting to the point right now where my husband says this can’t continue. Things are just way too high.”
She actually credits the “cookie poll” with keeping her business afloat after 2020, when their financial concerns began.
“In 2020, when the pandemic hit, we were almost at a point where we’re like, ‘Are we going to close the bakery? What’s going to happen?’ And I sat the employees down, and we all agreed to do the cookies again. If it was not for these cookies, red and blue, we would not be here today from the cookies in 2020.”
Eric Trump also made an unexpected stop at her bakery, which she said helped her business.

Lochel has hosted the informal poll since 2012, predicting the outcome of three of the last four elections, Fox29 reported. The winning streak ended in 2020 after 31,804 Trump cookies were sold over 5,750 Biden cookies.
According to the 2020 census, the town has a population of just under 10,000, and leans slightly blue politically.
