Oct. 31, Greensboro, NC — A prominent North Carolina social media influencer claims she was approached by a management agency affiliated with Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, offering her $50,000 to rescind her endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Meghan Claire, a Greensboro-based influencer with around 350,000 TikTok followers, shared that she received the alleged offer shortly after attending a Trump rally in Greensburg, North Carolina. According to Claire, the management agency’s email sought influencers willing to declare a shift from supporting Trump to endorsing Harris, aiming to sway undecided swing state voters ahead of the election.
“They’re looking for people who can essentially say they supported the other side and then switched,” Claire said. In her recount of the interaction, Claire claims she responded with a high counteroffer, requesting $50,000, which she says was accepted. However, Claire disclosed that she never intended to change her endorsement, explaining that her response was intended to test the agency’s commitment.

The comment comes as singer Nicky Jam said he was no longer endorsing Trump after a comedian joked about Puerto Rico.

The incident comes amid one high-profile shift in endorsements. Latin artist Nicky Jam recently distanced himself from Trump following an ill-judged joke by Trump-supporting comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, which included a punchline about Puerto Rico.
The Harris campaign has recently undergone major adjustments as well, quietly pulling millions in advertising this week from most North Carolina television markets and redirecting those resources to the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. Meanwhile, Trump reportedly holds a strong lead in other parts of the state, highlighting Harris’ decision to focus on a smaller geographic region of North Carolina.

Gee Must be desperate
I wonder if she could have negotiated an agreement that allowed her to receive and keep $100,000 or more and announce she was still supporting Trump, but not formally announcing endorsing, because of the payment.
