Social media personality Dan Bilzerian has filed paperwork to challenge Republican Rep. Randy Fine in Florida’s 6th Congressional District, marking an unconventional entry into the state’s political landscape.
The filing signals Bilzerian’s intent to run in a Republican primary that could draw attention due to the contrast between an established lawmaker and a high-profile internet figure.

Bilzerian, known for his social media presence and self-described poker wealth, has not previously held public office. His entry introduces an outsider dynamic into a race unfolding in a state where voters remain focused on issues such as the cost of living and the economy.
Details about his platform remain limited. However, Bilzerian has publicly criticized Fine’s positions on Israel and U.S. military actions involving Iran, while signaling a potential campaign centered on populist and anti-establishment themes.
Federal Election Commission records show Bilzerian filed paperwork on April 7, 2026. The filing lists an address associated with a law firm representing Lake County Commissioner Anthony Sabatini. Campaign materials indicate he may self-fund his bid, and he has launched a campaign website.
Bilzerian’s candidacy has also drawn scrutiny. He has previously faced criticism for controversial public statements, including remarks described as misogynistic and antisemitic. Among them, he referred to Fine as a “fat Jew.”

By contrast, Fine is an established figure in Florida politics. He won a special election in 2025 and is known for his conservative voting record, as well as a combative style that has included Islamophobic remarks, threats against political rivals, and ethics investigations. He has referred to himself as the “Hebrew Hammer.”

The race remains in its early stages. It is unclear how much infrastructure Bilzerian will build or how seriously he intends to pursue the campaign.
The primary is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2026.

Dan Bilzerian with his supposedly, tens of millions of followers, which I don’t think live in the 6th congressional district of Florida, hasn’t got a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. He would be better off to donate the money to a worthwhile charity instead of wasting it on his bid for a seat in congress.
