In Kamala Harris’ highly anticipated DNC speech, she baselessly asserted that if elected, Donald Trump would use his power to prosecute and imprison journalists. She conveniently failed to mention that as California’s Attorney General, she did exactly that to David Daleiden — the pro-life activist and undercover journalist that secretly recorded Planned Parenthood and abortion industry executives discussing the sale of aborted fetal tissue at length in compliance with California law.
Addressing her supporters in her acceptance speech, she said “Consider what [Trump] intends to do if we give him power again. His explicit intent to jail journalists [sic], political opponents [sic] and anyone he sees as the enemy. His explicit intent to deploy our active duty military against our own citizens [sic].”
Billing records filed in August of 2021 revealed an invoice from the National Abortion Federation’s attorneys for “coordinat[ing] review of new videos” the DAY AFTER then-Attorney General Kamala Harris sent a truck full of armed federal agents to raid David’s one-bedroom apartment.
One of David’s attorneys said, “This case is the most egregious abuse of prosecutorial power that I have ever seen and I was a trial and appellate lawyer in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for [30] years.”

Harris, as California Attorney General, investigated pro-life filmmaker David Daleiden after he produced a series of undercover videos in 2015 allegedly exposing Planned Parenthood trafficking in the fetal tissue of aborted babies.
Planned Parenthood successfully sued Daleiden and his organization, the Center for Medical Progress, for more than $2 million in damages, and the criminal case against Daleiden is still pending — for accurate undercover journalism.Trump has never expressed “explicit intent” to jail journalists. He has discussed prosecuting political opponents who have committed crimes, not for political reasons. (Ironically, it is the Biden-Harris administration that is trying to imprison Trump on what many consider spurious charges.)
Harris also used — or abused — the power of her office in an attempt to pursue political opponents, attempting to force conservative non-profit groups to reveal their donors to the state. That attempt, which was taken up by her successors as California Attorney General, was struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2021 in a 6-3 decision.
Harris’ questionable relationship with the abortion industry is well documented, and abortion providers funded her run for Attorney General as well as the United States Senate. Many in the pro-life space speculated that she came after David Daleiden so intensely because she was acting on behalf of her biggest campaign donors.
Harris has been notoriously slow to discuss policy in any significant capacity throughout her second presidential bid, but the two issues she did bring up at the DNC were abortion and immigration.
What? A Democrat being hypocritical. A Democrat lying about their record(or lack of). Not exactly newsworthy.
