Two prominent media outlets refused to air former President Donald Trump‘s speech to supporters on Tuesday following his arraignment on 37 federal charges.
Both CNN and MSNBC opted not to air the presidential candidate’s speech claiming the rhetoric is “dangerous.”
“We’re not carrying his remarks live because, frankly, he says a lot of things that are not true and sometimes potentially dangerous,” Jake Tapper told guest Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)
Earlier in the day, Tapper rebuked CNN producers for showing the former president celebrating with his supporters. “The folks in the control room, I don’t need to see any more of that,” Tapper grumbled on-air. “He’s trying to turn this into a spectacle, a campaign ad. That’s enough of that.”
CNN’s decision comes on the heels of CEO Chris Licht being fired after months of contention. A major point of controversy was the network’s decision to air a town hall event with Donald Trump earlier this spring. (RELATED: Chris Licht Stepping Down As CNN Boss)
MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow announced her network had made the same decision during her Tuesday night show.
“We are prepared for his pre-fund-raiser remarks tonight to again, essentially, be a Trump campaign speech. Because of that, we do not intend to carry these remarks live,” she began.
“As we have said before in these circumstances, there is a cost to us as a news organization to knowingly broadcast untrue things. We are here to bring you the news. It hurts our ability to do that if we live broadcast what we fully expect in advance to be a litany of lies and false accusations, no matter who says them,” she explained.
Maddow claimed she was not celebrating the decision to censor Trump’s speech and this was not a “glib decision” by the network. She revealed they could reverse that call if Trump said anything “newsworthy.”
On Tuesday, Trump pled not guilty to all 37 charges stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith‘s investigation into his improper retention of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021.
While speaking to a crowd of supporters after his arraignment, Trump cast his “sham” federal indictment as “election interference” by the Biden administration, and “the most heinous abuse of power in the history of our country.”

Screw the network fascists. Who are they to say definitely that Trump’s remarks are not true; not true according to their bias and only that.
Turn these authoritarians off; never watch or listen to them. They are the true enemy, not Donald Trump.
I feel MSNBC, CNN and all-censoring networks are not worth watching. Please boycott these liberal networks and give them the BUD LIGHT / TARGET treatment.
They are all running scared. That is why they are all using the same narative and are so afraid of Donald Trump. Go Trump 2024. We need to get the evil out of our government and media.

The liberal Networks are not covering Trumps speech because it was potentially dangerous to the Liberal Networks because he tells how they have lied and screwed him over for the last two years and are continueing to do so in order to keep him from running for President because there is no doubt he would win…If he doesn’t run…He cannot win!!!
