A Democratic staffer in Ohio was caught on an undercover camera ranting about immigration and the open border policy that he embraced, accusing residents of his state of “pure racism” for preferring secure borders and law and order.
In a video that appears to be edit segments of a longer conversation together for the sake of brevity, Kevin Okayawa unloads, “Open the f**king border, I don’t give a s**t who the f**k comes in here. We don’t need border patrol but the issue with even talking about immigration here in Ohio is that it’s a losing issue for Democrats here for no f**king reason other than people’s pure racism. So that’s probably why it’s really hard to find anything about where [he] stand on it. In terms of the way that [he] talks to the public, if [he] has to address immigration, [he] starts losing.”
Under the Biden-Harris administration, small Ohio towns have experienced a notable influx of migrants, sometimes increasing a population by as much as 25%. This sudden increase has led to exhausted local resources and heightened safety concerns, leaving many residents feeling neglected by their elected officials. The comments from Brown’s staffer, which imply a willingness to deceive the electorate, suggest a troubling trend within the Democratic party—a focus on political expediency while ignoring the genuine apprehensions of constituents.
The staffer’s comments highlight a broader disconnect between Democratic leadership and the realities faced by everyday Americans. As they advocate for policies that expand migration, they appear to overlook the very real challenges these policies impose on local communities.
Trump has been repeatedly branded as a “racist” and “Nazi” by the mainstream media — mostly for wanting to enforce immigration laws and stop the flow of illegal immigration. But what the establishment media has repeatedly ignored is that even in deep blue strongholds like Boston, Chicago and New York, many black and Hispanic residents have expressed mounting frustrations with how the migrant crisis is effecting their daily lives. In New York, affordable housing that was supposed to serve struggling New Yorkers has been repurposed to house migrants. In Boston, a community center that gave mostly black children after school activities was repurposed to house migrants. In Chicago, black residents sued their left wing mayor over the tent city of migrant vagrants.
But many Democrats — from politicians to their staffers — simply don’t care, and insist that the only plausible explanation for the rejection of open borders is bigotry.
In a Facebook post in April of this year, he wrote, “I’m excited to announce that I have accepted a position with the Ohio Coordinated Campaign to re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown, Congresswoman Emilia Sykes, and other down ballot Democratic candidates. I will be the Regional Organizing Director for the Summit/Stark region and will be responsible for leading a team of Field Organizers on day-to-day operations of the campaign. It’s super exciting to be back home and organizing in my own backyard. The Ohio U.S. Senate race will be one of the most competitive races in the nation. Senator Sherrod Brown has stood for the Dignity of Work his entire career in public service, fighting for the idea that hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are, where you live or what kind of work you do. Sherrod stands up for everyday Ohioans, and I’m proud to join the fight for his reelection.”
The Daily Caller reports:
Brown’s race is indeed competitive as he is fighting for his position. The incumbent Brown is up just one point on his Republican challenger Bernie Moreno, according to the Real Clear Politics polling average. Brown won his previous two contests by six points or more.
