Former Vice President Mike Pence is calling on former President Donald Trump to apologize for hosting white supremacist media personality Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago this weekend.
Pence made the comments in an interview with Leland Vittert on NewsNation, which aired last night.
In the interview, Pence urged Trump to use better judgment while not casting aspersions on his moral character.
The Daily Wire reports:
Pence was careful to not cast the former president as a racist or an anti-Semite, and noted that he would not have served under him if he believed he was either of those things.
“People often forget that the president's daughter converted to Judaism, his son-in-law is a devout Jew, his grandchildren are Jewish,” said Pence. “The broad brush of attack that the media leveled at him… I think the president demonstrated profoundly poor judgement in giving those individuals a seat at the table. He should apologize for it and denounce them without qualification.”
Fuentes previously compared the extermination procedure in Nazi death camps to Cookie Monster baking cookies when falsely claiming the Holocaust never happened.
A number of high-profile Republicans have spoken out against Fuentes in light of the dinner.
NRSC chairman Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said all Republicans should condemn white supremacy and antisemitism, and Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-SD) said he hoped whoever advised Trump before the dinner had been fired. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) called Fuentes “evil,” but emphasized that he doesn't believe Trump is an antisemite.
Meanwhile, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz called Fuentes a “racist clown.” Trump hasn't apologized for dining with Fuentes. Instead, the former president says he knew nothing about him before their dinner.

If Mike Pence is asking Trump to apologize, it’s political bulls..t. It’s pretty clear that Kanye West (aka “Ye”) showed up with somebody who Trump doesn’t even know, and he’s supposed to apologize for that? So, anyone who doesn’t do a full background check for “political correctness” on anybody who shows up at their door, or anyone they speak to, is now required to apologize? Total bulls..t!

Pence claims to be a Christian. I think he is, and his role model is Satan. He is nothing but a thankless back stabber. PRESIDEN TRUMP rescued him from obscurity so now he thinks he is brighter than everyone else. If I never see his name or hear his voice, it will be too soon.
