During an interview on Tuesday’s edition of “Fox & Friends,” Ian Sams, spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, discussed the possibility of Harris appearing on the program in the coming weeks. Co-host Steve Doocy formally invited Harris to the show, encouraging her to speak directly to Fox News viewers about their concerns.
“So, she did that interview about a week or so ago with CNN, and she’s going to do the one debate that we know of,” Doocy said. “Is there any possibility – you keep talking about Fox News viewers, she should come on Fox and speak to their concerns directly… It would be great to have her on the program.”
Sams responded positively, saying, “That is very kind, and I will relay that to the vice president for sure. The conversation touched on heated topics, including a disagreement over silenced microphones, a practice agreed upon during debates when Joe Biden was the Democratic candidate. Despite some moments of tension, the discussion remained largely amicable, with Doocy joking, “She shouldn’t be afraid of ‘Fox & Friends!’ Bring her on ‘Fox & Friends’… If she can’t talk to us, God forbid how she deals with [Vladimir Putin].”
Sams assured, “We ain’t afraid of ‘Fox & Friends!’ I’m sitting here talking to you right now. I’m enjoying it very much.”
“You are indeed, and I appreciate you stopping by,” Doocy responded. “All right. You got a big day. Ian, thanks very much.”
Sams, who has become a key figure in Harris’ campaign communications, has been fielding increasingly critical questions from media figures, addressing concerns that Harris’ appears overly scripted as the campaign progresses.
