-

first reported on Wednesday that former President confirmed he would not sign a federal ban if reelected.

In response to the fast-moving developments, a reporter in Atlanta asked : “Would you sign a national abortion ban if sent it to your desk?”

“No,” Trump replied, shaking his head.

“You wouldn't sign it?” the reporter pressed.

“No,” he reiterated.

Trump's comments came after landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport ahead of a campaign fundraiser.

The presidential front-runner also weighed in on Arizona's abortion ruling.

CNN continues:

Earlier Wednesday, Trump distanced himself from a controversial decision handed down by Arizona's state that said the state must adhere to a 160-year-old law barring all abortions except in cases when “it is necessary to save” a pregnant person's life. The ruling stems from a case that was revived after the US Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

“Yeah, they did,” Trump said in Atlanta when asked if Arizona went “too far” with the decision. “That'll be straightened out, and I'm sure the governor and everyone else are going to bring it back into reason and that will be taken care of, I think, very quickly.”

At the same time, Trump celebrated his role in overturning and granting states more power over abortion laws.

“We did that and now the states have it, and the states are putting out what they want. It's the will of the people,” Trump said.

“Arizona is going to definitely change,” he added. “Everybody wants that to happen.”
