Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance penned an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal about the Biden-Harris administration’s poorly executed response to Hurricane Helene, infuriating MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who blasted the publication on his show.
“The Wall Street Journal is publishing disinformation that might as well be in Epoch Times. The fact that it’s from a vice presidential candidate matters not. This is the same guy who lied about cats and dogs being eaten while the governor of his own state said [to] stop. When you say there are no standards, this is a perfect example of it.”
Despite dismissing Vance’s op-ed as disinformation, everything Vance claimed has been verified by fact-checkers from multiple outlets, and directly cites government sources.
Leftists have held tightly to Trump and Vance’s claims about reports of Haitian migrants kidnapping and eating household pets in Springfield, Ohio, and made a habit of resurfacing them and using them to deflect in conversations and debates where they’re completely irrelevant. John Fetterman recently did the same when questioned about Kamala Harris’s fracking position.
In a Fox News interview with Sandra Smith, Wall Street Journal Editor-at-Large Gerry Baker didn’t pull any punches when presented with the clip, and took the opportunity to remind Scarborough and viewers across the country that Scarborough was complicit in one of the biggest scandals in recent history, vouching for Joe Biden’s mental fitness just weeks before he was forced to drop out of the race.
“To be lectured by MSNBC on disinformation, it requires quite a bit of chutzpah on their part. Remember, this is the same Joe Scarborough who told us, I think, days or weeks before that infamous… presidential debate that saw Joe Biden pull out of the race that Biden was in incredible shape. He also attacked the Wall Street Journal article that just appeared that said Joe Biden was slipping. He said, he’s as sharp as he’s ever been, he’s brilliant. Weeks later, we saw what Biden was like in another month later he pulled out of the race.”
Joe Biden showed signs of cognitive decline before the 2020 election, and they increased in severity and frequency throughout his administration. On multiple occasions, Biden appeared lost on stage, and had to be ushered off stage by staff. Reporters uncovered papers giving him directions with pictures for getting on and off stage.
Scarborough was one of many members of the media that repeatedly vouched for Biden, gaslighting the American people and demanding they ignore what they could see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears.
