The Trump administration on Monday announced an immediate pause on leases for all large-scale offshore wind projects in the United States, following what officials describe as newly identified national security concerns.
In a press release, the Department of the Interior (DOI) said the decision follows “national security risks” detailed in “recently completed classified reports” from the Department of War. The pause is intended to “give the Department, along with the Department of War and other relevant government agencies, time to work with leaseholders and state partners to assess the possibility of mitigating the national security risks posed by these projects,” the agency said.
“The prime duty of the United States government is to protect the American people,” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in the statement. “Today’s action addresses emerging national security risks, including the rapid evolution of the relevant adversary technologies, and the vulnerabilities created by large-scale offshore wind projects with proximity near our east coast population centers. The Trump administration will always prioritize the security of the American people.”
The pause applies to five major offshore wind leases: Vineyard Wind 1, Revolution Wind, Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW), Sunrise Wind, and Empire Wind.
The administration did not specify how long the pause will remain in effect or what mitigation measures might be required for the projects to advance.

I have said for YEARS these wind projects are a great way to move mercenaries/terrorists into the US. Many of these “jobs” are brought in by Canada. Hard to say how many terrorist cells developed because of this unvetted process. Thank God, DJT and his advisors are aware and trying to keep us safe.
