Pennsylvania is likely to determine the winner of the upcoming presidential election, with either candidate’s likelihood of reaching the path to 270 shooting upwards of 90% if they clinch the state. Democratic Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman warned his party not to underestimate Trump’s popularity there.

After being asked at the 2024 Atlantic Festival what people — such as Pennsylvania voters, people he grew up with, and his friends — “see in Donald Trump that makes them want to vote for him,” Fetterman replied that he knows people who are voting for Trump even if they are “appalled by some of these things.”
“I never agreed with our approach talking about that he’s a ‘convicted felon’. I mean, I thought Democrats — we were the party that was all about second chances and that we’re not going to condemn somebody based on mistakes and that kind of situation. I was convinced, too, that those kinds of trials and that kind of thing — it’s not going to have an impact on that. It’s like, what’s left? He’s been impeached twice; now, it’s been two attempted assassinations, one where a bullet actually hit him.”
Following the first assassination attempt on former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bullet grazed his ear and he turned to the audience, raising his fists in the air in defiance, he left a positive impression on voters. Trump received public support from unlikely sources, including tech mega mogul Mark Zuckerberg, who admitted he thought it was “bad ass” and earned his respect and admiration.
Fetterman went on to say, “I also want people to understand — it’s not science — but there’s energy, and there’s kinds of anger on the ground in Pennsylvania, and people are very committed, and Trump is going to be strong, and we have to respect that.”

A famous Pennsylvania bakery holds a “cookie poll,” selling red cookies with the Republican candidate’s name and blue cookies with the Democratic candidate’s name. Though informal and unscientific, the poll has accurately predicted the winners of three of the four last elections, with 2020 being the exception, and based on the orders they’ve received so far this election cycle, Kamala Harris has serious ground to make up in the state.
Notably, Trump’s opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, seems worried about Pennsylvania, as she recently started claiming that she has never called to ban fracking despite the fact that she explicitly called to end fracking when running for president in 2019.
When Fetterman was questioned on Kamala Harris’s fracking position, he avoided answering the question directly, quipping that he didn’t believe fracking would play a major role in this election, and instead redirecting the conversation to Trump’s comments about Springfield, Ohio and rumors of Haitian migrants eating cats and dogs.
The democrats can feign concern about the election all they want, but I think they know that with the massive amount of voting fraud that will happen, they have absolutely nothing to worry about! And then the country can then prepare to learn what living in a CCP style society is really like!
