Editor-in-chief of far left magazine Mother Jones recently went viral on X (formerly known as Twitter) for her overreaction to being wished a “blessed day” by an Alaska Air flight attendant as they touched down in San Francisco.
Mediaite reports:
Mother Jones editor-in-chief Clara Jeffery faced endless mockery on social media after she shared a Friday anecdote in which she complained a flight attendant wished her and others a “blessed” evening after a safe flight to San Francisco.
She wrote on X, “Creeping Christian nationalism alert: @AlaskaAir flight attendant just wished us a “blessed” night as we landed in SFO (!) to groans. Other adjectives that would have sufficed: great, awesome, fabulous, amazing, fantastic…As my rowmate said, ‘this ain’t Montgomery, sweetie.’”
She was immediately met with backlash.
She initially tried to dismiss criticisms of her post as “right wing” and roughly two hours after the original post on X, she wrote, “The thing about being dragged by [right wing] “alphas” is that they are all so so so dumb.”
But she got a great deal of push back fellow leftists and progressives.
Armand Domalewski, co-founder of YIMBYs for Harris, replied, “Respectfully, I’m a pretty left leaning guy and I wish folks a blessed day fairly often. It’s just a nice thing to say.”
She responded, “Eh. It’s a matter of respect for the audience before you. Respecting their space and norms and wishes. Dominant cultures always feel they have a right to enforce their norms and intents. And…way off @AlaskaAir’s brand.”
One might argue that the LGBTQ+ movement is a more dominant culture that feels they have a right to enforce their norms and intents at this point in American history than Christianity, considering that on Easter, proclaimed Catholic Joe Biden made no mention of what’s arguably the most important holiday in the Christian faith, but instead made a point of recognizing “Trans Day of Visibility.”
Some speculated that she was tagging the airline in an effort to attract their attention, and force retribution against the employee for using a common and harmless phrase.
Considering the magazine she works for, readers might not be particularly surprised.
In 2013, Mother Jones claimed “right wing extremism” had killed more people than Islamic terror. One of their writers also authored a piece, calling Trump a “terrorist leader.”
i suppose she would be offended by someone saying bless you to her after a sneeze.
Clara Jeffery is a sad commentary . Freedom of speech for all seems to have slipped her mind. She writes in hopes of the airline sanctioning the flt attendant who wished her a Blessed Day.! Does she think she is the only one who has freedom of speech? Apparently so . I have only pity for her. She is an example of those who would rather spew hatred then be kind and wish one to have a blessed Day.
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION: CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM and BIBLICAL DOMINIONISM ARE TWO DIFFERENT CRITTERS.
Whereas Christian Nationalism promotes the biblically seditious Constitution as the law of the land, Biblical Dominionism promotes the Bible’s immutable moral law as the law of the land.
Christian Nationalism promotes the humanistic government of, by, and for the people whereas Biblical Dominionism promotes government of, by, and for God.

Since when? Islam’s Conversion by the Sword campaign killed nearly every Jew, Christian and gentile in it’s wesward path across the middle east, thru Judea, across Egypt and North Africa, and east thru Persia and into present day Afghanistan and Pakistan, slaughtering peaceful Hindus by the thousands a day, raping and killing the women first, then the men.
