CBZ Management, a prominent provider of rental housing in Colorado and New York, is pushing back against claims circulating in political and media circles regarding the rise of migrant gangs in the Denver metro area. The company disputes the narrative promoted by the Democratic Party and mainstream media about the severity of gang activity on its properties.

Over the weekend, CBZ Management addressed the issue in a series of tweets posted on X. “In an attempt to discredit this fact for political purposes and avoid governmental accountability, some have spread false information about our situation,” the company began.
Background on the Aurora Property Situation
According to the detailed thread from CBZ, the company began managing properties in Colorado after new ownership took over in 2019. At the time, the buildings were in disrepair, and CBZ was committed to a long-term renovation plan to revitalize the properties and boost their value. The company’s goal was to improve the quality of life for Aurora residents while offering a return on investment for the owners.
The renovation effort was significant. It required extensive upgrades to individual units as well as the buildings themselves, a process that was expected to take years. In an effort to oversee the project, a CBZ representative moved to Colorado from New York with his family.
Allegations of Gang Infiltration
CBZ reports that the project was initially successful. Property values rose, and vacancy rates dropped. However, the situation shifted when gangs began moving into the area.
WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES
After some time, we noticed a rise in crime and tenant complaints. The most alarming moment occurred when our local CBZ representative was attacked at the end of 2023.

The company says it worked with Aurora city officials after recognizing the problem, but they argue initial responses from local authorities were inadequate. The turning point came when long-term tenant Cindy Romero contacted Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky for help. Romero, who had her own security cameras after CBZ’s were destroyed by the gangs, provided video evidence of armed individuals loitering in the apartment complex.
Despite clear evidence, many still deny the reality of the situation, sometimes using us as scapegoats. That’s why we are no longer staying silent. We will continue to counter falsehoods with simple facts and evidence.

Yes, gangs did take control of our apartment complexes in…
Jurinsky made these videos public, showing what appeared to be gang members patrolling the property. In response, CBZ states that they took further steps to increase security and address the concerns raised by residents like Romero, who eventually relocated for safety reasons.
Political and Law Enforcement Response
Despite the video evidence, Colorado’s Democratic governor downplayed the reports, asking the public to ignore the footage. A spokesperson for the governor even accused Councilwoman Jurinsky of fabricating the ordeal.
As Breitbart News reported:
Colorado’s Democrat Governor Jared Polis is ridiculing claims that violent, gun-toting migrant gangs are taking over apartment buildings in Aurora, Colorado, despite clear video evidence and confirmation issued by the town’s own mayor.
This week, video has gone viral showing migrants carrying pistols and rifles through the halls of an apartment complex in Aurora, a suburb near Denver. According to reports, the migrants are members of the dangerous Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua, which has exploded in membership here in the United States as a result of the Biden-Harris border crisis.
Reports say that the gang members have taken over several apartment buildings and have gone unit to unit telling residents to give them their rent money instead of sending it to the owners of the buildings.
Meanwhile, local law enforcement is actively investigating the presence of the Tren de Aragua gang, a Venezuelan criminal organization allegedly involved in human smuggling, violence, drug trafficking and money laundering. Aurora police and officials in neighboring suburbs have formed a task force to combat gang activity, especially since Denver’s status as a “sanctuary city” limits local police cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
The Tren de Aragua gang’s influence in the United States is linked to Venezuela’s ongoing economic and political crises under President Nicolás Maduro. The collapse of the country’s institutions has allowed criminal groups like Tren de Aragua to expand their operations internationally, including in U.S. cities like Aurora.
For its part, CBZ Management remains adamant that the public is not being told the full story about the extent of gang-related issues.
We're just a company trying to give value to our tenants and owners. We're responding now out of frustration of media printing false information about us. Even many media outlets we did respond to, ignored our facts.
