Actress Sharon Stone recently made headlines during a press conference at the Torino Film Festival in Italy, where she urged women to steer clear of Trump supporters and shared her concerns about the direction of America following the president-elect’s victory. However, her remarks—characterizing Trump voters as “uneducated” and “naive”—have faced criticism for their out-of-touch elitism and undermining national unity.
Comparing America to Italy Under Mussolini
Stone (net worth $40 million) opened her commentary by drawing parallels between America’s current political climate and Italy’s history under fascism, proclaiming that those who voted for Trump would lead the U.S. down a similar path.
“Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things. You guys, you understand what happens. You have seen this before,” Stone said, referencing Italy’s past while making sweeping generalizations about tens of millions of American voters.
“My country is in its adolescence. Adolescence is very arrogant. Adolescence thinks it knows everything,” she said, sounding like an adolescent who thinks they know everything. “Adolescence is naive, ignorant and arrogant, and we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescence.”
‘We haven’t seen this before in our country. So Americans who don’t travel—80% of whom don’t have a passport—who are uneducated, are in their extraordinary naivete,” she continued.
She became less coherent, attempting to distinguish between so-called “good men” and “bad men.”
The “bad men”—the majority of men who voted for Trump—must be kept away from America’s wives, daughters and girlfriends, Stone warned.

The comments were made at the Torino Film Festival in Turin, Italy.
Stone appeared to compare Trump to Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

“We must say that good men must help other good men, and those good men must be aware that many of their friends are not good men. You can’t continue to pretend that your friends are good men when they are not,” Stone pretentiously proclaimed.
“You must be clear-minded and understand that your friends who are not good men are dangerous, violent men, and you must keep them away from your daughters, wives and girlfriends,” she added.
Stone previously mentioned she was considering leaving the U.S. and moving to Italy if Trump won.
“I’m certainly considering a house here, and I think that’s an intelligent construct at this time… when we see presidential candidates whose platform is hate.”
