Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.
According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.
The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

And much needed. Recall President-elect Donald Trump’s 2017 inaugural was sabotaged, boycotted and the security perimeter overrun by leftist punks and thugs. I was there, and having been involved in several prior inaugurals, the deliberate chaos was unprecedented.
Despite the massive number of attendees, outside of that bubble on the National Mall, the rest of the surrounding areas of D.C. were dreary.
Then there was Joe Biden’s fake, virtual inauguration in 2021. I was there, too. And it was surreal: no major public gatherings, no people, really, just vast depressing emptiness.
A TV only event.
The Capitol was blocked off surrounded by sturdy high steel security fencing and downtown D.C. was patrolled by 20,000 totally unnecessary National Guard troops.
It was dystopian.
Biden’s parade to the White House was empty of any spectators.
Thankfully, we will now have a proper Inaugural for Trump, and for America.
But, along with the pomp and circumstance, and the millions poured into it by huge donors, this inaugural, also designated a National Special Security Event (NSSE) will have plenty of security.
In fact, President-elect Trump’s inauguration will feature some of the most stringent security measures ever taken for a national special security event. And cops from across the country are offering to support it.

The NSSE designation requires federal agencies to provide full cooperation and support at the sites covered during the event.
It also places the Secret Service as the lead agency in charge of the planning, coordination and implementation of security operations, the FBI in charge of intelligence, counterterrorism and investigation of major criminal activities associated with the event, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in charge of recovery management in the aftermath of any terrorism, natural disasters, or other catastrophic incidents related to the event.
While there won’t be tens of thousands of National Guard troops deployed, there will be over 25,000 law enforcement and military personnel—including 4,000 officers coming in from other cities and 7,800 National Guard members, 30 miles of tall anti-scaling fences and security checkpoints to process hundreds of thousands of spectators.
Drones will assist in surveillance.
Unlike Biden’s over-the-top security measures that were mostly political theater after the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot, this inauguration comes amid a series of real, unprecedented high-security events in D.C. (Jimmy Carter state funeral) and on the heels of the New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans and a Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas that rattled the nation.
It also follows a campaign marked by two attempts on Trump’s life—including one from a would-be assassin who nicked his ear with an AR-15 rifle round. Not to mention, the documented Iran terror regime’s plans and attempts to assassinate Trump and his top national security advisors from his first term.
Meanwhile, Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president of the United States will take place against a backdrop of 25-foot banners symbolizing the different flags in United States history.
The five flags are being handmade by lead seamstress Lucille Rodriguez and her team at San Antonio-based Dixie Flag and Banner. Rodriguez’s team is making two Besty Ross flags, two 13-star U.S. Navy flags and one present-day American flag with 50 stars.
Inauguration ceremonies always feature the Betsy Ross and current flag. However, two of the flags represent the incoming President. The two 27-star flags represent Trump’s Florida home state.
The original use of the 13-star flag originated one year after the Continental Congress drafted and adopted the Declaration of Independence in July 1776.
The resolution creating the first official flag in 1777 stated, “that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white, that the union be thirteen stars, white on a blue field, representing a new constellation.”
