Ukraine has reportedly agreed to a minerals development deal with the United States, paving the way for joint resource exploration, including oil and gas. The agreement comes after Washington dropped demands for a claim to $500 billion in potential revenue from Ukraine’s natural resources.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to travel to the White House for the official signing.

Strategic Partnership and Economic Interests
The deal follows President Donald Trump’s remarks on Feb. 22, where he suggested the U.S. was close to finalizing a mineral revenue-sharing arrangement with Ukraine. Trump framed the agreement as a step toward resolving the ongoing conflict, a sentiment echoed by some policymakers in Washington. (The Financial Times previously reported that Ukraine had rejected an earlier version of the deal due to the lack of security guarantees.)
UKRAINE: What many deemed impossible—a deal that allows American taxpayers to recoup military aid to Ukraine while justifying a US security guarantee—has become a reality. Geopolitical Context
The timing of Zelensky’s White House visit underscores Ukraine’s broader geopolitical challenges. The country continues to seek Western economic and military support while balancing its own national interests in the face of continued Russian aggression.
The details of the final agreement remain undisclosed, but sources suggest that Kyiv negotiated for more favorable terms after previous concerns about sovereignty and financial control.
As the situation develops, all eyes will be on the White House meeting, which could mark a decisive shift in the three-year-old Russo-Ukrainian War.
If result of Trump’s peace efforts are and end to the killing, a sovereign & prosperous Ukraine, a rare earth mineral deal for the US, & Europe taking more responsibility for its own security…he’ll deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. Well, Russia is really advancing their war right now to grab more land to end up with the Russian military having 60% of the minerals under Russian control. The U.S. will get maybe 40% of Ukraine’s minerals that are still under Ukraine’s land. Of course, Russia will move Russians onto their new land and force Ukraine citizens over into what is left of Ukraine. Russia will also keep their newly acquired access to the ocean with Russians living on Ukraine’s former land. Trump is right, Putin is a very smart man. He gets what he wants and does not have to help build up Ukraine. After the democrats get back in office in this country, Russia can start another war and take all of Ukraine and have all the minerals and a Hugh military force with total access to the ocean all on Ukraine’s former land. Well, most of Ukraine’s people are now refugees in the U.S. and Europe any ways and they aren’t planning on going back to their country and maybe building it up to where Russia will think twice about starting another war. At least the death count will slow up in Ukraine for now. The U.S. and Europe should have taken in the Ukraine people with the agreement it was temporary and not move them permanently into western countries. They would be returned after the war to their own country to rebuild it. But the West never does things right and that is why the West will destroy itself and the western world and its culture as these enemies of the west win in time.
I don’t want to see the United States as predatory, but it would be nice to be able to recoup most of the billions of dollars that the taxpayers have expanded on the Ukrainian Russian war.
