Former Fox News star turned political commentator Megyn Kelly torched Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent “cosplay” during field operations.
While Kelly praised Noem for doing a “great job” as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary, argued the former South Dakota governor should do away with photo-ops while visiting various DHS agents and other officials.
“Why does she have to keep doing this? She’s doing a great job, her actual performance as DHS secretary, in my view, anyway, has been amazing,” Kelly said during a Wednesday episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast. “Just stop trying to glamorize the mission and put yourself in the middle of it as you cosplay ICE agent, which you’re not. I can’t stand these photo-ops.”
“She is an administrative policy person appointed by Trump because she was very loyal to him. Fine, but stop with the glam. She looks like I look right now, but she’s out in the field with her gun, being like, ‘We’re gonna go kick some a‑‑.’ No one wants you there,” Kelly added.
Noem seemed to brush off the criticism, arguing that the agents are “proud” of her willingness to put on an ICE hat during visits.
“Every day I wake up and there’s new criticisms. It’s something different every single day, so I try not to pay attention to the noise,” Noem said during a Wednesday night appearance on Fox News’s “Jesse Watters Primetime.” “Obviously I’m guided by the folks that I work with every day to be appropriate for the situation that I’m in and to take the same that precautions they do.”
“I will tell you that I oversee 26 different components of the Department of Homeland Security, and they are so proud of the fact that I’m willing to wear an ICE hat, that I’m willing to wear an HSI vest, that I’m willing to go into there and wear something and be proud of them and the work that they do,” Noem told Fox News host Jesse Watters. “They didn’t have that with the last leadership team.”
Noem has drawn backlash from both sides of the aisle.
A Texas man was recently arrested after authorities say he made terroristic threats against ICE agents and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Robert King allegedly made “alarming” social media posts, according to a statement from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Dallas.
One post noted his intentions to “open fire” if agents are seen in his neighborhood, according to the statement.
Fox News reported that some of the alleged posts included comments relating to Noem and others claiming ICE agents are not “real cops” and have “no real authority.”

If Kelly doesn’t like Noem’s “photo ops,” she can just not watch them. We finally have a leader who actually works at her job.
I agree with Megyn, as I I had been thinking the same thing myself.
Noem was a great governor of South Dakota, and from all appearances, she is doing a great job as DHS secretary, but she is NOT a field officer or a enforcement agent.
I would assume that h er job was more consistent with establishing policy and procedures for the field personnel, than being out in the field. except in certain instances, when circumstances call for her presence in the field
I can understand her desire to be out int he field where the action is, but the fact remains that she IS an administrator and NOT a field agent.
Ok, Kelly, a little Jelly? She looks like I do but she’s out pretending?
Oh honey, DO you know how to do Noem’s job? Do you know how to defend yourself and your team in the field, like Noem does? Can you shoot at deadly aim?
Noem, admittedly, is a beacutiful woman. But please don’t equate yourself with Noem who comes from a “wild West” state where women can hold their own. I lived off grid in the Colorado Rockies, for years. Grew up in the Midwest, started riding horses at age 5 and shot my first real gun (vs bb gun) at 10. Was an NRA card carrying member at age 12.
Megyan, stick with reporting the news. It pays for your obvious plastic adjustments you need to keep your job.
