The hysterical anti-Trump left and its willing puppets in the majority media spent weeks shamelessly screaming about the president’s so-called “fascist” June 14 military “birthday parade.”
The Army’s 250th anniversary coincidentally falls on Trump’s birthday. And the parade was officially the celebrating the Army’s birthday, not Trump’s.
Still, they claimed it would be a spectacle only a North Korean despot should have, ignoring the fact that virtually every major European democracy has similar military parades all the time.
Trump’s disappointing former Defense Secretary, retired Marine General James “Mad Dog” Mattis, also absurdly made similar comments as he sabotaged Trump’s parade plans during his first term.
They warned that it would cement the idea of Trump as a dictator who would use the military against innocent Americans.
This, while ignoring that the U.S. Army is one of the most diverse and democratic forces in the world, with a centuries-old tradition of being apolitical.
The lefties and their media mouthpieces also screamed about the cost, an estimated $45 million, which was vastly overblown, and includes millions for DC roadway repair after the parade. Predicted repairs, which were also overblown, and shown to be unnecessary.
The final cost of the parade likely will be many millions less than estimated.
They also bemoaned the cost of the parade despite it being literally a drop in the bucket in a nearly trillion dollar annual defense budget, and an amount Democrats spent on DEI programs in any single government agency in any given six-month period.
They also ignored how the parade was likely to have an outsized impact on military, especially Army recruiting, making it an outstanding PR investment.
The left and their media friends also hyped up the contrast between this “fascist” military display and the supposedly “patriotic” people participating in the anti-Trump “No Kings” protests. A contrast that proved empty, nonsensical and stupid.
Then we had the parade and everything changed.
I watched the parade live online as CBS, NBC, and ABC disgracefully chose not to cover it.
For those who missed it, you can watch the entire parade here:
I was immediately taken by how even those reporters were forced to be positive and even gushing at times about the parade and the crowds.
Many admitted they didn’t expect what they were watching.
I saw nothing to indicate it was Trump’s birthday. No balloons, cake, or a Marylin Monroe equivalent singing “Happy Birthday Mr. President.”
I saw nothing other than an Army show.
The parade was a surprising well-orchestrated master class in military history, showing the evolution of the U.S. Army from the revolutionary war through every major conflict to the present.
It did this with historic vehicles rumbling by, and old uniforms and troops, and Army marching bands, horses, all the way to modern tanks and robot dogs. All with large screens and loudspeakers describing the Army’s changes over 250 years.
And it wasn’t limited to ground vehicles, as Army aviation was also on display with WWII fixed wing planes and more modern helicopters and drones doing slow flybys overhead.
You could see the joy in the troops participating as they marched proudly. Some on tanks and armored vehicles waved and smiled at the crowds, or made heart signs with their hands.
This was America’s Army.
Meanwhile, the commander-in-chief and his guests watched respectfully with Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth saluting the troops at times.
Crowds along the route were large happy and energetic but maybe smaller than expected.
This was likely due to the nonstop negative news preceding it, the fear of lefty protests or riots, and the sometimes overhyped concern over lightning and thunderstorms, which pushed the parade start time 30 minutes early, but never materialized.
In the end, the parade was a solid event honoring and celebrating the United States Army and its history in winning wars and protecting the U.S. and democracy worldwide.
It was also nice that Trump could oversee it on his birthday.
At the end of the event Trump also personally administered the renewed oath of enlistment for a large group of soldiers. A touching moment they will never forget.
But most of the left, having their prior pathetic, dark, and nasty parade narratives destroyed by reality, quickly pivoted.
I say most, because there were exceptions, including The Washington Post‘s Trump-hating Max Boot, who wrote: “I was worried about Trump’s Army parade — until I saw it.”
Boot, while making digs at Trump, still gushed about the parade and how he loved it and how it was a total success for the Army. Which, despite all the hysteria, was what it was always meant to be, according to Trump himself back in 2017.
Boot’s piece is worth reading as he sounds a lot like me in his description of the parade.
But the rest of the left, rather than simply admit they were totally wrong about the event, and that all they did was demean the Army and our troops, their new narrative was that the parade was a failure for Trump because it wasn’t a North Korean spectacle!
They then started calling it lame, low energy, embarrassing, mocked the crowd size, hyped up logistical problems, and spun it a thousand ways to say it was horrible and sucked.
And they are still doing it.
Continuing their demeaning of the parade, the Army, our troops, their families and all veterans, simply to bash Trump.
And to cover up their ignorant, nasty, and disgraceful behavior toward this impressive and patriotic event, and being totally, absolutely 100% wrong about it.
Shame on all of them.

Are liberals, socialist, and democrats ever happy with anything? It seems like all they do is accuse, bitch, accuse, and point fingers at their next hate project. These people need to get some common since but that might be harder than whistling in the wind and expecting anyone to hear it.
I thought the parade was fantastic !!! Thank God there are still millions of Americans, who believe in this country.
Unfortunately, in contrast, we have to deal with these Liberal Morons and the idiots in the so-called news media, who think they represent a significant number of Americans.
If they don’t like this country, then GET THE HELL OUT. There are planes and ships leaving every day. !!!
The Demonocrats are so full of it, that it’s coming out of their mouths !!!
