The assassination of Charlie Kirk has shaken millions of Americans, not only because of the brutality of his death but because of the vile effort by some to slander him in its aftermath. Critics have spread the claim that Kirk had turned against Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu, insinuating that his support was conditional, half-hearted, or fading. This narrative is false. It collapses under the weight of direct evidence, personal testimony, and the plain record of Kirk’s own words. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, appointed by President Trump as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, has now provided that testimony, and it should put to rest the lies once and for all.
I've not commented extensively on the assassination of @charliekirk11 b/c it's been difficult for me to process. Before leaving for Israel to become @realDonaldTrump appointed US Ambassador, I had to divest from all of my activities, including my weekly & daily TV shows. I…
— Ambassador Mike Huckabee (@GovMikeHuckabee) October 2, 2025
Huckabee knew Charlie Kirk personally for over a decade. He first welcomed a teenage Kirk onto his television programs, guided him as a guest and colleague, and then entrusted him with his own daily show when he departed to serve in Israel. Huckabee recalls a private moment with Kirk during that transition, when Kirk confessed that if he could choose one role above all others, it would be the very position Huckabee was assuming, ambassador to Israel. That confession was not for cameras or applause, it was an off-air conversation. Such candid moments reveal the truth of a man’s heart, and Kirk’s heart was bound to Israel.
Those who now accuse Kirk of having soured on Israel ignore or conceal the hard evidence. Only weeks before his death, Kirk wrote a seven-page letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu. That letter, revealed by the New York Post and now publicly acknowledged by Netanyahu himself, demolishes the slander. It is the opposite of an anti-Israel screed. It is a work of deep concern, affection, and strategic urgency. Far from distancing himself, Kirk was urging Israel to strengthen its position in the eyes of Americans, especially young conservatives who were increasingly targeted with lies by anti-Israel activists.
The thrust of Kirk’s warning was simple: Israel is losing the information war. Kirk recognized that in the age of social media, Israel’s adversaries, terrorist sympathizers, leftist activists, and authoritarian propagandists, were drowning young Americans in falsehoods. They painted Israel as an apartheid regime, accused it of genocide, and claimed it manipulated U.S. policy. This barrage has had measurable effects. Polls show nearly half of young Americans side with Hamas. For Kirk, this was nothing less than a five-alarm fire. He feared that unless Israel adapted, even the strong support of conservatives could fracture over time, weakening the bedrock of the U.S.-Israel alliance.
Kirk’s advice was not the counsel of a critic eager to withdraw support. It was the counsel of a friend desperate to prevent a disaster. He urged Netanyahu to stop outsourcing the defense of Israel’s reputation to American surrogates and to instead build a direct, first-person messaging campaign. He called for a rapid-response team modeled on Trump’s combative and media-savvy communications operation. He recommended an Israel Truth Network, a centralized hub for fact-based responses and pro-Israel content. He called for freed hostages to travel America telling their stories. He wanted ordinary Israelis, from doctors to soldiers to small business owners, to share their lives in English so that Americans could see them as people rather than propaganda targets. He pressed Israel to speak clearly about the existential danger posed by Iran, knowing that young conservatives distrusted U.S. intelligence claims but would listen to Israel itself.
This was not a man turning his back on Israel. This was a man who loved Israel enough to risk candor. As Huckabee has emphasized, the suggestion that Israel was complicit in Kirk’s murder is a blood libel, no different in kind from the poisonous lies that have historically been used to justify antisemitic hatred. The attempt to connect Israel to Kirk’s death is not merely false, it is malicious. It insults Kirk, who dedicated his final months to defending Israel in the most practical way possible, by showing them how to win the battle for hearts and minds.
Charlie Kirk’s legacy, in this respect, is extraordinary. He combined an unapologetic Christian faith with political acumen and media savvy. He was articulate, compassionate, and willing to tell hard truths. Huckabee, in his tribute, described Kirk as extraordinarily intelligent and authentic. His death was evil, but even in death, his example continues to inspire millions. It is a cruel irony that those who malign him are attempting to undo precisely the work he gave his last energies to accomplish.
What does this mean for Israel today? It means they must heed Kirk’s words. The information war is real, and Israel cannot win it by ignoring it. Huckabee’s own position as Ambassador reinforces this point. He is not a career diplomat chasing prestige; he is a Christian statesman entrusted with a mission by a President who values truth over image. His testimony about Kirk’s passion for Israel should carry weight in both Washington and Jerusalem. If Netanyahu follows Kirk’s advice, Israel can begin to turn the tide against the propaganda machine that currently dominates campus debates and social media feeds.
Those who still claim Kirk turned against Israel have lost the argument. They rely on innuendo, hearsay, and distortion. The plain facts are otherwise. Kirk’s private admissions, his public record, his letter to Netanyahu, and the sworn testimony of a U.S. Ambassador all point in one direction: Charlie Kirk was Israel’s friend to the end.

Prophesy from Kirk for Mid East
I have also seen the opposite accusations. “He was controlled by the “zionists”. ” “He received 80 million dollars from Natanyahu.” “He was killedbecause he changed his mind about Israel.” I believe none of these things are true.
People who can see reason understand this and donβt believe the conspiracy theorists, but itβs upsetting they try to malign Israel and Charlie Kirk.
I think it would be helpful for Mrs, Kirk to help here, too. I wasnβt thinking that a couple weeks ago, but since sheβs had the wherewithal to get back on the show, I think it would not be inappropriate to ask. Also, President Trump and his admin should quash the Israel-haters on the right by addressing their false or out-of-context arguments, such as βAIPAC control.β Additionally, there are some good videos going around explaining how skewed that $900,000 paid by Israel, compared to the BILLIONS paid by Qatar, China, etc.
Itβs frightening to hear βjust asking questionsβ from some on the right, when the biased answers to those questions could influence not only the existence of Israel, but also the Jewish people. Half of the worldβs Jews are in Israel. The Tuckerfied Megyn Kellyβs argument wouldnβt hold up if half the worldβs Catholics lived in the Vatican and we were βjust asking questionsβ whose answers could get it destroyed, and it doesnβt work for Israel either.
