A former aide to President Joe Biden revealed in stunning testimony exactly how much he would have been compensated if Biden had won reelection in 2024, with the figure stretching into the millions.
Michael Donilon served as senior adviser to the president for the entirety of Biden’s four-year term and for decades prior. Donilon first worked for Biden in 1981 when he was a U.S. senator from Delaware.
He is one of 14 ex-Biden administration officials to sit down with the House Oversight Committee behind closed doors in its probe into whether the former president’s inner circle covered up evidence of his alleged mental decline and whether executive actions were signed via autopen without Biden’s full awareness. “My sense is that, in my view, the money was, that it was a guarantee in the campaign that we’d had a negotiation, and that’s my memory of the agreement,” Donilon said in the video when asked if his pay would have changed depending on how Biden fared in the election.
Donilon was then asked whether there were any circumstances under which he would have received a bonus, to which he acknowledged there was.
“What were those circumstances?” House Oversight Committee staff asked.
Donilon said, “That Joe Biden would have been reelected president of the United States.”
That sum would have been $4 million, Donilon acknowledged, in addition to the $4 million he was already paid.
The New York Times, back in August, reported Donilon’s testimony showed he “held a financial interest in Mr. Biden’s remaining in the presidential race, all while Mr. Donilon was part of a very small inner circle of aides who kept damaging information from Mr. Biden.” (RELATED: Signatures Without A Soul: Why Biden’s Autopen Actions Are Null And Void)

Q: would the amount of money Donilon earned on 2024 campaign change based on how far Biden made it.

The 66-year-old advisor, the Times noted, steadfastly resisted calls for Biden to exit the race, even after Biden’s devastating debate performance against Trump in June 2024.
Donilon, during his testimony, defended Biden and said he believed he was still capable of running the country for another four years.
“What I saw, day in and day out, was a leader who was deeply engaged and in command on critical issues, both at home and abroad,” Donilon told the committee, according to CNN.
