A Texas entrepreneur who builds underground survival bunkers says fears of a wider global war are driving a surge in demand — with politicians and billionaires now scrambling to secure their own shelters.

Ron Hubbard, founder of Atlas Survival Shelters, said his company has been flooded with inquiries as fighting in Iran fuels fears the conflict could spiral into a broader international confrontation.

“I’ve been inundated with calls,” Hubbard said, describing a dramatic spike in interest from wealthy and politically connected clients looking for protection from potential missile strikes, drone attacks or even nuclear war.

Cabinet Officials Among Clients

According to Hubbard, the rush includes two members of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet, one of whom recently texted him asking when their bunker would be completed.

He said the conflict in the Middle East has sparked renewed fears of World War III, prompting high-profile clients to move quickly on previously discussed bunker projects or begin planning new ones.

Business Booming for Bunker Builders

Hubbard’s Texas-based company manufactures underground shelters designed to withstand extreme scenarios — from ballistic missile attacks to nuclear fallout.

The shelters vary widely in price and complexity. Entry-level models can cost around $20,000, while custom luxury bunkers equipped with living quarters, air filtration systems, and supplies can run into the millions of dollars.

Many buyers are not just preparing for nuclear war but also for other crises such as pandemics, civil unrest, and power grid failures.

Wealthy Clients Lead the Trend

Demand for high-end bunkers has grown significantly in recent years as global instability rises and wealthy individuals seek ways to protect themselves and their families.

Some shelters resemble luxury homes underground, complete with multiple rooms and modern amenities designed to make long stays survivable — and even comfortable — during a catastrophic event.

Fear Driving the Market

For Hubbard, the surge in bunker orders reflects a broader sense of anxiety among elites who believe geopolitical tensions could escalate rapidly.

In his view, the escalating war with Iran has intensified those concerns — and sent the phones ringing.

The result: a booming business built on a simple premise — that when global tensions rise, the world’s wealthiest people start looking for a place to hide.

What will all of the upper crust elites do when they don’t have the slaves and peons to produce food and goods for them?
