The federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings has reached a crucial moment. According to multiple sources, investigators are deciding whether or not to charge Hunter. The origins of the Department of Justice (DOJ) probe into the president’s son date back years, but it has undeniably intensified leading up to the midterms.
While the Justice Department tries to avoid bringing politically charged cases to the fore so close to an election, CNN’s Evan Perez reported last night that the scope of the investigation has narrowed. Fox News added that David Weiss — the Trump-appointed U.S. attorney in Delaware — and DOJ officials are considering charging Hunter with “tax violations, foreign lobbying and false statements.”

Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Hunter Biden was a subject/target of the grand jury investigation, according to a well-placed government source. According to the source, a “target” means that there is a “high probability that person committed a crime,” while a “subject” is someone you “don’t know for sure” has committed a crime.”
The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was predicated, in part, by Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) regarding suspicious foreign transactions.
Another source familiar with the investigation told Fox News in December 2020 that the SARs were regarding funds from “China and other foreign nations.”
The Daily Wire adds:
CNN noted that the Department of Justice was considering whether it could bring charges right now due to a department policy about not bringing political sensitive cases with two months of an election. However, the report added that the “unwritten rule” may not even be a factor since Joe Biden is not on the ballot.
Justice Department officials have allegedly expressed concerns that if charges are brought, Hunter’s defense team could weaponize his crack cocaine addiction and claim he wasn’t aware of any felonies due to his altered state.

I’m sure he’s on the set of rules where nothing will happen., you know, ‘rules for thee, but none for me’ (all democrats have special rules). Had it been one of the trumps kids, there would already been an impeachment and calls for them to be locked up.
If Hunter actually faces any severe charges, Joe’s DOJ will step in. AG Garland will claim they are investigating Hunter, and their investigation takes precedence. Of course, the DOJ will throw out all existing evidence. They’ll say it was tainted because Trump was President, and start over.
A couple years from now, if ever, Hunter will agree to pay some to unpaid parking tickets.
