Former President Donald Trump is in New York City this morning for a deposition as part of the New York attorney general office’s civil investigation into the Trump Organization.
New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation began in March 2019 and revolves around claims the Trump Organization overvalued its properties to secure favorable terms on loans, insurance coverage and tax deductions.
Trump filed a lawsuit in Syracuse federal court against James’ office last year, hoping to end the years-long inquiry.
The judge disagreed, dismissing Trump’s claim that James’ investigation was based on her perception of Trump “as a political opponent.”
Trump will now sit down with lawyers from James’ office behind closed doors at an undisclosed location. The content of the questions is a matter of speculation, but we know he will take the Fifth.

Trump posted about the deposition on his Truth Social account early Wednesday morning.
“In New York City tonight. Seeing racist N.Y.S. Attorney General tomorrow, for a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in U.S. history!” Trump wrote. “My great company, and myself, are being attacked from all sides. Banana Republic!”
Donald Trump is the last member of the family to be deposed. Ivanka Trump and Don Jr. were deposed earlier this month. All three depositions were expected to take place last month, but Trump’s lawyers had asked for a delay in light of the passing of Trump’s first wife and the mother of his 3 eldest children Ivana Trump on July 14. The depositions had been scheduled to take place the next day.
This was yet another delay after a months-long battle in courts to stall and avoid the AG’s office efforts to interrogate them.
Trump is spending the summer alternating between his residences at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey and Trump Tower in Manhattan. He is widely expected to announce a presidential campaign before or after the midterms.

Trump was the best president ever however I feel he should not run again. There will be legal battles up and until 2024. The raid of his home will cause another legal battle, the FBI will probably plant evidence and of course Adam Shiffty will say he has the evidence. I would vote for Ron DeSantis
