ANALYSIS – Much of the nation was recently mesmerized by the escape, manhunt and capture of an escaped murderer in Pennsylvania. Many of us saw the video of Danelo Cavalcante crab walking up two walls to break out of prison.
Many of us also followed the massive, two-week-long search and expressed relief when the armed killer was recently caught by Pennsylvania State Police and members of the U.S. Border Patrol’s special BORTAC unit. (RELATED: Police Provide Chilling Update Involving Manhunt For Illegal Fugitive)
Law enforcement was assisted by a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) plane, which picked up Cavalcante’s heat trail with its Forward-Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) imaging technology. They were also greatly aided by State Police K-9 dogs, one of which bit the killer on the head.

Too many Americans, however, never learned that this escaped maniac was an illegal alien who should never have been in the United States and was wanted in Brazil for another murder in 2017. (RELATED: Media, Dems Use Jacksonville Shooting To Smear Their Political Opponents As Murderers)
In news report after major news report, none mentioned his illegal immigration status, even after they noted he had committed murder in Brazil.
And that was deliberate media obfuscation.
Prosecutors contend that Cavalcante brutally stabbed and killed Deborah Brandao in front of her two young children in 2021 after she learned of that slaying in Brazil and threatened to go to authorities.
While some ask why Cavalcante wasn’t deported after his murder conviction, that’s the wrong question. Especially since we want to ensure illegal alien criminals who commit the worst crimes in the U.S. get the justice they deserve before being sent back home.
Foreign offenders who commit lesser nonviolent crimes should be deported and in the past they were.
But that question is a distraction. The real question is, why was he here?
This vile former Brazilian street gang member should never have entered the country or should have been found and deported well before he committed murder.
We still don’t know where or when this killer illegally entered our country prior to the 2021 murder. Maybe he slipped in despite Donald Trump’s stringent border efforts, or maybe he came with the first wave of illegal aliens who flooded across the border just after Joe Biden was inaugurated.
But it doesn’t matter; under Biden, the number of potentially murderous illegal alien ‘Cavalcantes’ has mushroomed beyond belief. (RELATED: Biden Considers Forcing Illegal Immigrants With Asylum Claims To Remain In Texas)
In an opinion piece for the Reading Eagle, Pennsylvania State Representative Mark Gillen, a Republican and chairman of the state House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, summarized things well when he wrote:
The simple truth is this — he never should have been here. The horrific failure on the part of the federal government to secure our borders, ports and other points of entry ended in the murder of Deborah Brandao and the ensuing terror inflicted on all of us.
The federal government has a responsibility to enforce the rule of law and work to guarantee our public safety. Period. Our current failed immigration policy is not only dramatically placing the public at risk, but it is substantially draining resources that could be deployed to help those with legitimate needs.
Gillen added:
Government’s number one job is to protect its citizens and make sure our citizens are secure in their persons and effects. Citizens of Pennsylvania are being violated by the very federal government that is obligated to protect their safety. The failure of Washington on the immigration issue is now a front page story in the small towns of Pennsylvania.
One news story I read went out of its way to note that illegal aliens are supposedly less likely to commit violent crimes than U.S.-born citizens. Even if true (and I’m not convinced), it shouldn’t matter.
We shouldn’t be importing ANY violent criminals, or any criminals at all, for that matter.
Meanwhile, Cavalcante’s sister, who appears to also be here illegally, has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Eleni Cavalcante faces possible deportation, in part due to her possibly aiding her murderer brother in eluding capture.
As Gillen noted, referencing Joe Biden’s culpability in the current illegal immigrant crisis: “The rule of law is not being enforced when it comes to immigration, and these are the tragic results of that failure. It is time for a dramatic policy change at the federal level.”

IF EVER an opinion piece struck at the heart of a matter, THIS ONE DID. WRONG is WRONG, and no amount of manipulating it can create a RIGHT. This regrettable set of incidents involving this inhuman monster and the thousands like him now here and loose in the United States is a solid example of a nation’s sovereign rights being violated by its own unhinged president and his corrupt administration. Such an act defies reason & logic. WHY we citizens, the likely victims, seem to accept this has to be one of the most bizarre ironies of our modern times.
