Severe weather in Texas turned Fox News host Laura Ingraham's seemingly straightforward travel plans into an unexpected odyssey starring United Airlines. The weather delays were so widespread that Ingraham missed Tuesday's 7 p.m. show after her flight was redirected to Austin, Texas.
In a frustrated announcement on social media an hour before her program was scheduled to start, Ingraham revealed that she had been stranded on her journey to Houston after Memorial Day. She was scheduled to host Tuesday's show from there but wouldn't be able to attend. At one point, the host of “The Ingraham Angle” called in to her own show. As Mediaite's Charlie Nash reports:
Fox News confirmed to Mediaite that Ingraham was scheduled to host the show from Houston prior to her unforeseen redirection to Austin, about 160 miles away.
The Five co-host Jeanine Pirro filled in for Ingraham on short notice, hosting the show from New York with a focus on former President Donald Trump's hush money trial.
However, Ingraham did call into her own show around 30 minutes in.
“I want to bring in Laura Ingraham, host of the Ingraham Angle. She joins me now on the phone,” said Pirro during a discussion about Trump's trial. “Hello, Laura. I hear you're at an airport or on a plane somewhere.”
“Eight hours, friendly skies of United Airlines,” Ingraham replied. “It wasn't so friendly today, but that's alright. Everybody was nice and patient. I'm so sorry not to be on tonight, it was just literally no way I could get to a studio in time given what happened on the airline with the weather and mechanical problems, but I followed everything that was happening today and continues to happen in Manhattan.” (RELATED: Fox News Slams Biden Campaign For Surreal Robert De Niro Press Conference)
Ingraham proceeded to criticize “the weaponization of the judicial system” against Donald Trump.
Responding to Ingraham's remarks, United Airlines apologized for the delay.
