HM Defense have released a new .50BMG bolt action rifle called HM50B. This rifle is marketed as being a higher precision weapon than a typical anti-materiel rifle thanks to features like the free-floated match-grade button-rifled and honed barrel, target trigger and unique lock-up system. The HM50B is also designed to allow working its action while staying on the rifle which is achieved thanks to its ejection port and bolt handle layout – it has a right-side ejection port but a left-side bolt handle attached to the front portion of the bolt.
HM Defense HM50B rifle features CNC machined billet aluminum upper and lower receivers and handguard. The upper receiver is machined out of 7075 aluminum and has an integrated top Picatinny rail. The lower receiver is made of 6061 aluminum, has AR-style controls and is compatible with AR-15 pistol grips and stocks. The rifle comes standard with a Magpul PRS Gen3 adjustable stock and an ERGO Tactical Deluxe pistol grip. The 14.5″ handguard is made of billet 6061 aluminum and has a full-length top 1913 rail. The rifle is shipped with an Accu-Tac HD-50 bipod installed on the handguard. The finish of the receivers and the handguard is Cerakote of FDE or Tungsten colors. The HM50B rifle is fed from 10-round double-stack detachable box magazines. The 29.5″ barrel is equipped with an HM Recor muzzle brake. The overall weight of the HM50B rifle is 29.5 lbs.
HM Defense HM50B rifle has an introductory price of $5995. It comes in a hard case with a fitted foam insert.
