Democrat Congressman Says He Will Cross Aisle To Support Censure Resolution

-

A Democrat congressman signaled he is willing to cross the aisle in support of a resolution against a fellow colleagues.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) announced he would likely support censuring a Democrat lawmaker over their recent comments about the ongoing conflict in . Moskowitz, a Jewish lawmaker, has harshly condemned Rep. (D-Mich.) who has repeatedly fired off criticisms against Israel since the terror group unexpectedly attacked in October.

“If a censure comes on her misinformation on the hospital bombing, which obviously we know was not true, that she continued to spread even after intelligence came out it wasn't true,” Moskowitz said in an appearance on CNN's “The Lead with Jake Tapper.” “And on ‘From the river to the sea,' I would support that censure.”

The congressman was referencing a since-debunked claim by the Hamas terror group that Israel knowingly fired an air strike on a Hospital in killing hundreds. Establishment outlets quickly circulated the report until additional information revealed the drone that hit the hospital was actually fired by Hamas. On the flip side, Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) moved to force a vote to censure Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) over inflammatory comments about Palestinian civilians, according to the Washington Examiner. Mast, a fervent supporter of Israel who wore an Israel Defense Forces uniform to the Capitol, gave remarks on the House floor where he downplayed the existence of “innocent Palestinian civilians.”

“I would encourage the other side to not so lightly throw around the idea of innocent Palestinian civilians, as frequently said,” he said. “I don't think we would so lightly throw around the term ‘innocent Nazi civilians' during World War II.”
