A Republican congresswoman has reported that her office was evacuated due to death threats, highlighting the escalating risks faced by lawmakers amid a perceived surge in political violence.

Rep. Kat Cammack (Fla.) revealed on Wednesday that her congressional office was forced to evacuate following a series of “imminent death threats” targeting her, her family, and her staff. The threats reportedly came after she publicly shared details of her harrowing experience with a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy in May 2024, during which she faced dangerous delays in receiving critical medical care.

In a post on X, Cammack stated that she had received “thousands of hate-filled messages and dozens of credible threats from pro-abortion activists” following her disclosure to The Wall Street Journal. She emphasized the seriousness of these threats, noting the current climate of violence against elected officials.

Fox News has more:

In her post, Cammack included photos displaying the types of harassment she has received.

The congresswoman said during the WSJ interview that she had an ectopic pregnancy and that after speaking with medical professionals she had initially refused to terminate her pregnancy. She says she had fears that she would be violating state law due to the fact she was five weeks along at the time of the termination.

Although the nature of her condition was considered fatal, she was still afraid, she said, and blames pro-choice messaging.

“It was absolute fearmongering at its worst,” she told the publication. “There will be some comments like, ‘Well, thank God we have abortion services,’ even though what I went through wasn’t an abortion.”

Despite the threats, Cammack remains resolute.

“To those spreading misinformation: I did not vote for Florida’s heartbeat law; I serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, not the Florida Legislature,” she posted to X.

“I won’t back down in the fight for women and families. Ensuring women have the resources and care they deserve is critical. We need real conversations about maternal healthcare in America — conversations based on truth, not fear.”

Those savages who actively promote the murder of innocent babies certainly have no compunction against murdering politicians they don’t like. And they consider themselves civilized!

What a bunch of whackos we have out there. What makes these deranged so angry all the time? Perhaps they need a job or something to maybe put something positive in that empty cavity.

The pro- abortion crowd does not care about the truth. It wants abortion to be legal anytime during a pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy treatment is not abortion and neither is care for a woman who has suffered a miscarriage. They falsely say that abortion bans mean such treatment is not permitted putting lives of women at risk. They do this to get support for pro-abortion laws. Voters have amended state constitutions legalizing abortion based on these lies. Thankfully this did not work last year in Florida and Nebraska. The Florida state constitution amendment legalizing abortion failed because even though more than 50% of the voters voted yes in Florida 60% of the voters must vote yes for proposed amendments to pass and this amendment vote was greater than 50% yes, but less than 60% yes. In Nebraska the pro abortion amendment received fewer than 50% of the vote while a 12 week abortion ban amendment received a yes vote of greater than 50%. I would have liked a total abortion ban amendment to pass, but there was none so I voted yes on the 12 week ban amendment and no on the legalized abortion amendment. Ads for the legalized abortion amendment were scare mongers falsely claiming abortion bans are dangerous for women.
