House Republicans Reach Deal To Avoid Government Shutdown

House Republicans have agreed on a backup plan for averting a government shutdown by the Friday deadline.

Multiple sources told Fox News Digital that the deal would extend current government funding levels for three months and also suspend the debt limit for two years – something President-elect Trump has demanded.

The details of the deal are still unclear. However, while emerging from a meeting in Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) office, House Appropriations Committee Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.) told reporters that details will be released shortly.

“We have reached an agreement and details will be forthcoming,” Cole said.

Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Okla.) told reporters, “the plan is to put a bill on the floor that we think is a reasonable step forward,” as she left Johnson’s office.

President-elect Trump hailed the move as a “success” in a message shared on Truth Social.

So what do the dems have to say about this, especially since it is something the President-[re]elect Trump wants?

Two more years of deficit spending, continuing resolutions, and no budget. Are there no adults in the federal government? Both parties are gluttonous hogs at the proverbial trough, and too blind to see the trough is running dry.

WE need to pray DOGE actually works. We can no longer afford our bloated and inefficient government.

Sounds like it might be what the American public wants with out any perks that keeps the jan. 6th coharts, that perpitrated the onesided commision to still be able to be prosecuted, for their acts. and no raises for congress.

We need to quash the ‘freedom caucus’. I am sure they were part of the nay votes on the 2nd vote, that President Trump wanted.
