Tuesday night the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to censure Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D) over her recent remarks about Israel.
The punishment, while largely symbolic, was a formal public rebuke of her most recent anti-Israel comments made in the wake of the Jewish nation's war against terror group Hamas.
Twenty-two Democrats crossed the aisle to vote alongside 212 Republicans to censure Tlaib. The Michigan Congresswoman is only the third Representative to be censured in the 21st century. (RELATED: Democrat Congressman Says He Will Cross Aisle To Support Censure Resolution)
Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Ga.) filed the resolution on Monday.

“If this is not worthy of censure, what is? When you can call for the annihilation of a country and its people, if that's not worthy of a censure, what is?” McCormick said on the House floor Tuesday.
In the text of his resolution, the Georgia Republican accused Tlaib of “promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.”
A similar resolution to censure Tlaib, brought by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) failed to advance to a vote last week. (RELATED: Conservative Congresswoman Files Motion To Censure ‘Squad' Dem Over Israel Remarks)
On Wednesday, House Democrats pulled a similar resolution to censure a Republican Congressman over his remarks defending Israel.
Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) moved to force a vote on her resolution to censure Florida Rep. Brian Mast (R) on Monday but later informed The Hill that the legislation had been pulled.
